Actually, it’s an establishment for jackdaws.
I’m afraid that is not the correct collective noun for jackdaws.
While the flames of insurrection are burning bright, Politico had the clever idea of turning its virtual pages over to … provider of ideological gasoline and matches, idiot and former Breitbart hack Ben Shapiro!
Backlash predictably followed, as did an equally predictably terrible statement by Politico:
Yes, clearly the way to rise above partisanship and ideological warfare is give a mic to someone who gleefully engages in both.
And now apparently there is internal unrest within Politico equal in scale to the unrest within the NYT after their Tom Cotton Op-Ed:
This is Ben Shapiro*

[More on Politico here, first in a short thread]
Of course, with trump’s impeachment and a party that spent two months stoking the Big Lie (and now calling for uNiTy) … the media would be remiss if it missed out on the chance for

Hell if you sign up for the Prime trial, and forget to cancel, you can call them and get the charge refunded (though if you’ve used it since the billing period you will get a deduction for that)

So he’s doing it now for Jan. 26th?

What’s the point of this? To an outside observer, it’s all The Joker just wanting to see the world burn at this point. An easily reversed decision that serves no purpose at all except to underscore what a colossal fuckup the Trump admin COVID-19 response was.
In any case, Canada continues to ban non-essential travel from the US on a month by month basis, currently extended through Feb 21.

It makes no sense is the point.
What Donald Trump says about government after Jan 20th means about as much as what I say.
But this is a “scoop” or something somehow.

It’s pretty clear the goal of this though. Not to change the actual policy, but rather to make Biden affirm them then screech ‘hypocrisy!’ For criticizing the Trump admin response. And also say ‘see, the Dems want to restrict your freedoms!’
Think of it like a warm-up or a trial run for not ever having to give a damn what the Trump administration does ever again.
Unlike some folks around here, I do not dislike Bill Maher, but I can’t say I loved his return from Christmas break. His marquee guest is Kellyanne (yay!) and his new rule really kinda misses the point. Twitter dunkage ensues.

In 2016, Mr. Babbitt’s former girlfriend applied to a court for a protection order, telling the court that Ms. Babbitt, then known as Ashli McEntee, had approached her on a roadway and had rear-ended her car three times.
“She was screaming at me and verbally threatening,” the complaint says. The court granted a protection order. The following year, the former girlfriend again applied for a protection order, which the court granted.
But it’s economic anxiety or something.
It’s too bad you can only cancel your NYT subscription just once.
