Well, I’m curious to see if the WaPo will actually follow through on that notion…

Presenting racism as a theoretical idea to be debated would have in fact been an improvement over what the media gave us - at least then there would have been a debate. Instead, half the time they omitted the issue altogether, and half of the time they presented racism as a trending lifestyle. (“Here’s the new fad sweeping the heartland - staring wistfully at cornfields at sunset, while chanting, ‘You will not replace us.’”)

The real takeaway from the editorial is this:

On a happier note: The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel published an editorial calling on Senator Ron Johnson to resign due to his role in promoting disinformation about the election.

Johnson demanded space in the paper to respond. So the Journal Sentinel gave it to him … and then published it with extensive footnotes documenting all of Johnson’s lies and evasions (and generally trash talking him as well):

That’s damn good.

That’s pretty good. It’s about time someone put facts alongside someone’s essay full of misleading statements. I wish they had better formatting though. Like being able to jump between the footnote and the actual essay. (Both ways, not just to the footnote).

NPR changed the picture fwiw:

Beltway media doing the beltway media thing. After four years of total shit culminating in a seditionist attack on the election outcome and an assault on the Capitol, wHy nO fiGleAf.

Excellent summation on the failure of political media.

FTNYT

I cannot properly express how much I despise that paper.

Real Americans, like DJT, would never go in for ostentatious displays like this.

Truly this is unheard of! No previous US president (except He Who Shall Not Be Named) would ever, ever dream of wearing a Rolex …

… well, except Eisenhower, LBJ, Reagan, and JFK (and, since he left office, Obama.)

What kind of Rolex was Biden wearing?

Edit: looks like a Rolex Datejust, the same watch Eisenhower wore. It’s not a crazy expensive watch.

A tan one.

The science checks out. That’s why you can’t prosecute a guy who tries to shoot you and misses. There’s no crime there if he doesn’t hit you!

Good to know the Sideshow Bob defense is alive and well.

And he laundered the money and lied for months about it while in office. All in violation of FEC law.

Folks, it’s time to look forward to Rolexgate, not backward to some vague insinuations that nobody remembers.
