Sure, in a “What’s in the box?!” sense.
To borrow from another discipline (one from which journalism probably takes too many cues), one of those “how-to” screenwriting books had a bit that said “Nobody wants to see a movie called ‘The Village of the Happy Nice People.’”
I predict that number of post in P&R will also fall. WWII was not only a more more interesting and exciting time for serviceman, but also for civilians. Still the saying “may you live in interesting times” is a Chinese curse not a blessing and the Trump presidency while always interesting was also horrific.
So true, but, wow, if you’re a journalist, and you can’t find something wrong with the world (like, I dunno, climate change or the police shooting POC or income inequality or a million other things that didn’t start under Trump), maybe you’re in the wrong job.

Yeah, there are plenty of horrors in the world and the nation. Just they aren’t Tweeted to your phone on an hourly basis. I can’t feel much sympathy for someone effectively saying: “Well, now I have to work for a living,” though.
Well, at least he can always go to that diner in Ohio.

SNL is going to need to dig up a new opening bit too.

I really think that the unconscious desire to have a real “opponent” cover was a thing for a lot of reporters and press organizations leading up to to the 2016 election, and led to a lot of the coverage that understated what a moron and a disaster Trump would be as a president; the softball coverage was rationalized as “balance.”
National Review, sinking to Townhall levels.
The reality:
Man, that ‘Against Trump’ cover story just recedes further and further into the rear view…
Kinda reminds me of that old chestnut about the Hundred Days:
— 9th March, the Anthropophagus has quitted his den
— 10th, the Corsican Ogre has landed at Cape Juan
— 11th, the Tiger has arrived at Gap
— 12th, the Monster slept at Grenoble
— 13th, the Tyrant has passed through Lyons
— 14th, the Usurper is directing his steps towards Dijon, but the brave and loyal Burgundians have risen en masse and surrounded him on all sides
— 18th, Bonaparte is only sixty leagues from the capital; he has been fortunate enough to escape the hands of his pursuers
— 19th, Bonaparte is advancing with rapid steps, but he will never enter Paris
— 20th, Napoleon will, tomorrow, be under our ramparts
— 21st, the Emperor is at Fontainbleau
— 22nd, His Imperial and Royal Majesty, yesterday evening, arrived at the Tuileries, amidst the joyful acclamations of his devoted and faithful subjects.

I bet he calls pop soda. Let’s make an article about that too.
Next Biden will be addressing Tim Cook as Tim Apple.
As a Canadian, I feel a lot better about our neighbour to the south when the biggest presidential controversy is how he pronounces the name of a grocery chain.

I see you’ve already forgotten about his dirty hobo of a rescue dog. It’s downright un-American.
Can we really trust a dog that doesn’t have papers proving its heritage? How can we be assured that Biden hasn’t invited an illegal immigrant mutt into the White House?!
I don’t know about you, but I say “NO” to the idea of a path to citizenship for these animals. When Mexico sends their dogs to the US, they’re not sending their purebreads. They’re sending their mutts with behavioral problems. I’m NOT OK with bad dogs.
My only wish right now is that Republicans take back one of the houses of Congress in 2022 so they can get to the bottom of this.
Weird how the liberal media is really pounding those large generators Biden’s FEMA sent sitting on a TX tarmac for days out to the airwaves.

They are German Shepherds. Did they come here legally? Did they pass the citizenship test? ARE THEY NAZIS?

Is Joe Biden about to flood America with mixed breed Nazi dogs?
Those are all important questions that the lamestream media simply aren’t asking. Clearly they are in being held in check by the monied interests in the pet rescue business.
Well I am here to say that it’s OK to be a purebred. They’re under attack by the deep liberal state but we can stop them. We must stop them.
