They can’t just… change the passwords?

Maybe afraid someone could hide a backdoor in the software?

Because Trump IS another Hitler. Just a stupider one. And you never point out the good things Hitler did because it diminishes the awful.

Never forget Trump is responsible for a hundred thousand deaths and counting in this country, and his legacy continues to destroy us.

Mainstream media snaps back

In case you might have forgotten…

No chance I’ve forgotten my daily mantra of saying Fuck the NY Times.

Reported for COVID disinformation and blocked. And no, I’m not kidding.

Haven’t seen much coverage of Politico being sold for a billion dollars to Axel Springer. One detail that really stuck out is how profitable their business model is:

Indeed, the strength of the business isn’t actually rooted in the kind of scoopy, splashy political reporting that made Politico a player. About half its revenue comes from a project Mr. VandeHei got off the ground in 2011, a product called Politico Pro. That digital platform will — for a mere $10,000 or more for an annual subscription — keep you up to the minute on the inner workings of the Agriculture Committee, or the Armed Services Committee, or anything else of urgent interest to Washington’s lobbyists and bankers. Customers sign up for two-year contracts in the five and six figures, and it doesn’t take that many to build an enviably stable and profitable media business. The profit margins were more than 20 percent last year, and they’re expected to top 30 percent this year on revenue of about $200 million, the company said.

Read this editorial on the Washington Post this morning about how Politico changed political coverage for the worse. A lot of the commentary on political reporting I agree with, though I was not aware that it was Politico itself that was the seed of that change.

Internet archive link for those who don’t have Washington Post sub.

There’s a reason they get called Tiger Beat on the Potomac.

Bret Stephens is Very Serious.

Of course the column has attracted the usual retorts in the comments section, e.g.:

Hey, Bret, I know you were not a big Trump fan, but it sure does sound like you’re already nostalgic for those good old days of 8 months ago.

I don’t recall any President having to rebuild an entire government they way Biden has had to in his first year in office. Add to this, having the burden of Republican (and Democrat) obstructionists sitting in Congress and state offices. A pandemic his predecessor totally botched, killing hundreds of thousands of Americans. A stupid war he has wanted to end for years - and did.

I think so far he’s been a success. When you’re trying to run a country as diverse, and sometimes as perverse as this one, it’s bound to get a little messy.

I guess when you’re passing your days in a dark crevice of a mattress you gotta find some way to pass the time.

CNBC is pro-accelerationism I guess. Which is odd since their stocks and shit wont matter much in a civil war.

CNBC was one of the fire starters for the Tea Party, and look at what’s become of Maria Bartaromo. Their stance isn’t new.

Temporarily unmuting thread to post this. Seems important.

Well fuck. My plan is AT&T.

Yeah, I’m AT&T because I signed up with Cingular when it was the exclusive iPhone service provider, and then AT&T bought them.

I should really look into switching to T-Mobile.
