Did you watch the whole interview?
60 Minutes has interviewed plenty of worse human beings than MTG, Putin, Saddam, Qaddafi, and Charles Manson, to name a few. Leslie’s interview was nowhere as tough as a Mike Wallace interview, or even a Chris Wallace. Instead of scoffing at some of MTG statements she should have asked follow-up questions. MTG like Trumps loves attention, so the fact that MTG was happy doesn’t mean she came across as good.
I seriously doubt that swing voters saw that interview with MTG, and thought she seems like a perfectly lovely person with mainstream views. Instead, I think the swing voter thought, what a mean nasty woman with crazy views. Even if MTG didn’t come across as a serial killer.
Kudos to Tom Hanks and the WaPo for publishing this fascinating piece of American history.

Apparently white guys who murder black homeless men can trigger the NY Time’s “passive voice” that’s normally reserved for murderous police officers.
This is a pretty amazing story about criminal ‘justice’ in America. The black man apparently committed no crime; he was yelling and he threw his jacket on the floor, according to witnesses. The white man apparently attacked him for that, which is a crime. He choked the black man to death while everyone watched. And then the police let him walk.
How isn’t this at least a manslaughter charge?
The New York Post narrative is that a honest citizen defended other good citizens from a crazy homeless guy. The Manhattan DA is more progressive but the mayor is not. This is similar to the Jose Alba case, where a 61 year old (Dominican) bodega employee was accosted and pushed by a young (black) 30ish year old. The 60 year old stabbed the 30 year old to death.
Jose Alba was originally arrested and charged with second-degree murder but then pressure from mayor, etc he was released and charges were dropped.
