Man, I guess I’m not playing enough characters (or trying new builds), but the last thing I need is more retcons. I’ve got 30 sitting in my stash right now.
An extra stash page will be quite nice. I think I’ve got three slots left among my three current pages.
I think an experienced player could maybe get an alt from 1-30 in an hour, if they used all the boosts, grinded (ground?) LQs from 20 to 30, etc. A newbie, though? No way.
Anyone got any Legendary item suggestions for a melee Black Widow? I’m most likely to go for Gungnir, but I’m open to other thoughts.
Gungnir isn’t all that great these days compared to some of the other choices, if they work for you. I would look at Savage axe of Ares and Excalibur (depending on whether you want a more offensive or defensive choice).
I just started the game a few days ago. I’m about level 10 now on Gambit and Emma Frost. Both whom I play and switch back and forth undecided about which I would like to take to cap first. I guess I better start grinding it out a bit so I can hit 30.
10-15 hours seems pretty high for getting to 30, which is not hard. I’d think that’d get you closer to 60. maybe not all the way there without boosts and synergy but…eh.
Then again, I got my 6th 60 yesterday and I have been running about four different boosts continuously for the last couple months, so my perspective may be a little skewed.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see an XP boost during the anniversary. Wouldn’t mind one, since I expect to be working on cosmic prestige for Gambit.
Rather than gaining 2 power points per level, players will now gain 1 point from levels 2-14, 2 from 15-29, 3 from 30-44, and 4 from 45-60 for a total of 152.
Hmm. So post-patch, you’ll only have the same power points that you had pre-patch at level 42. Higher and you have more, lower and you have less. Unless I’m misunderstanding the change.

Maybe. I think some characters that have different attack types (energy vs physical) still benefit from gungnir if they let you respec. It also takes a long time (at least to me) to max your legendary, or even get it to level 4. Gungnir seems to pay out pretty quickly with crit bonus. Most math I see still says gungnir is very good, and certainly competitive. For my Dr. Strange, I’m not using Gungnir, but lots of people still favor it.
Haven’t been able to play much lately due to work. I’m bummed to here that there will be lots of respecs for the anniversary. I don’t have a lot of faith lately after their recent ones. Gaz gives out lots of stuff and has lots of fun events, but they really seem to rush some of the changes. I can’t imagine being a programmer at that company either. Seems like they are releasing tweaks and patches all the time, so I wonder what kind of hours those people are putting in.
A large amount of the changes that are done regularly to powers and items are simply data driven. Someone changes numbers in a spreadsheet/database and clicks a build button (if that). Actual programming is slower and is likely related to new character power concepts and bug fixes and back ends for new UI features and the like.

Well, you can buy one and try it out. Or if you haven’t bought anything else you can make a new account and choose differently. Or you can keep playing until you have 175, 200, 400, or 600 splinters (random, or a hero of your choice respectively) if you wanted to play someone specific.
This is the downside of the F2P model, unfortunately.
You’ll have enough splinters to either get a random hero box or get one of the other starter heroes by the time you finish the story (sometime between levels 25 and 30, usually).

Gaz has a test server up often that lets you try all the heroes, at level 60. You get ~6000G to play with on test, and they have items in the store for 1G each for a potion to boost you to 60, give you armor, runes, etc. I feel like you really need to play the heroes for a bit to give you a feel, but maybe this can rule out a few. I personally found Colossus horribly dull, but others love him.

Yeah, I think we should definitely give it a try. We can always fill up with randoms if we don’t have 10 people (I’m pretty sure, anyway).
Sounds like they’ve change this on test, with 2 - 14 retaining their 2 points per level status (and some points going from the later levels). I guess we’ll find out later.
I see from the website that Silver Surfer is the hero they’re releasing during the anniversary event. He should be out on live by the end of next week (on test this weekend) and will apparently cost 900G/400 splinters. Mr Fantastic will be out at the end of June and you can see some pics of him on hub4heroes.com.

The patch notes are up, though the servers are still down as I type this. Tons of changes as one would expect. Looks like this weekend’s bonus will be 50% XP/RIF/SIF.
