I got Black Panther as my free random from the latest code. All the gifts are nice but I didn’t get anything extra great, 6 fortune cards and nothing dropped, did get a punisher costume but I think every one gets that as well as a Dinosaur Pet and 50 splinters.
I opened my level 60 uniques box and ended up with 3 any-hero uniques (Cerebro, some energy blaster thing, and Shield medical boots).
The birthday-cake loot explosion was great. Got 3 more uniques (2 any-hero and Kitty Pride’s Favorite Sweater) from it.
Outside of those, just standard junk. A few boosts from the cards, etc. The new Gambit costume is amazing though.
Sure is a lot of loot in those reward boxes! Took me a while to sort through it all. I suppose I probably should have saved up some of the boosts, but it’s easier to just use them all and enjoy it while it lasts.
Queued up for a PUG in the fire demon raid, just to see what it’s all about. Lots of fire, check. Demons, check. First pair of bosses that totally pwn the PUG, check. Pretty much as expected, although it seems from the forum chatter that the devs cranked up the difficulty from what it was on Test. I was expecting utter defeat so that didn’t bother me, but I’m not particularly enthused about the lack of explanation in-game. There’s some buffs you can get to help against the bosses, but I didn’t see anything in the intro text or as I was running around about them. Ditto on the giant green circle of death. Apparently there’s some issue where not everyone in the raid gets the little pop-up text things that tell you what’s going on. Still, I can see it being fun after a patch or two.
An absolutely ridiculous amount of loot. Holy crap. I think I ended up with about four full inventory pages worth of stuff. Maybe five. It’s a darn good thing that one of the freebies is a general stash tab.
Yeah, I think the hero is already determined at the time you receive the box.
Was there one box that was only like 10 relics, or did I miss something? (Not that I’m complaining, just seemed odd in comparison to everything else…)

About half my new stash tab ended up filled with gifts (and unopened boxes, like the level 60 ones as I don’t have any 60s yet) waiting for use! My stash tab where I store all the buffs is getting rather insane, so I think I’ll activate a whole bunch of those over the weekend.
Omega System: I played most of last night, levelled my storyline-progressing Wolverine twice (to level 21), my non-storyline Thor once (to 49, I think) and my non-storyline Colossus twice (somewhere around 41, 42). I did the shared terminal quest, the shared midtown quest and at least 3 or 4 legendary quests. I finished with 8 omega points… yeah, it’s going to be slowwww going accumilating those!
I was half watching a stream (a guy named Degan) of a pick up group running Surtur multiple times. And failing baaaaadly. It looks pretty tough. They never got past the first fight whilst I was watching.
Whilst watching the stream somebody shared a link to a site offering a hero random box for an email address. I gave it a whirl and got… Cyclops. I think his Ultimate is now level 4! My RNG does love itself some Cyclops.
No doubt. Even with the bonus Omega Points from the anniversary gifts and the ANIRUOK code, I only have 16. I like the look of the SHIELD Hover Car node, but with the points in the triple digits, it’ll be a while.
Speaking of codes, there’s two that I just learned about last night from the codes page: ANIRUOK for Omega Points, and GLASSCANNON for an XP boost.
there is a server side boost right now, so it’s a great time to use boosts since they get multiplied
On of the guys in my SG had over 100 omega points when I logged out last night. They accrue faster at level 60. I think he was mostly running LQs. Not sure if he was boosting or not, but probably yes. I only had like 15, including the ten freebies, but I spent time doing cosmic prestige at level 1, and I wasn’t going to get much that way.
It’s XP based from what I understand, so every level 60 character is also adding synergy bonuses (and small bonuses at 30 and 50, for that matter).
I only got 10 of Asgard and 10 of Kakaranathara. Come to think of it, I also didn’t get the Punisher costume. Not a big deal, as I don’t ever plan on using Punisher.
Are you sure your inventory wasn’t full? Check your stash tabs, you may find some stuff has automatically gone in there (or so I gathered reading some forum posts). Also I’ve heard there’s some little indicator somewhere if you try and open something that gives you more things than you can fit in your inventory. I’m not really clear on that though.
Weird, only noted one stack of 10, which would imply the rest autos tacked into my inventory relics, but no previous box’s stuff did that. Ah we’ll, only 10 of each if they proofed, no big deal.
Plus LQs are still the best XPERIA in game I think. (particularly ones in the story areas at super heroic, since the globes inherit the story mode Xperia modifier).
The new shared quests are nifty, but while doable solo are clearly designed with expectation of grouping due to their requirements. It’s a pretty decent reason to start checking who’s online and forming a group if you’re going to run them and others are involved.
And the Omega system is AMAZING. Great potential diversity/depth there to differentiate your char/play style further.
Yeah, it’s one of the little orange, square indicators on the upper right of the screen (same place that let’s you know of quest status changes or new power points). It will have a gift box icon. Clear your inventory then click on it.
