After creating a new account to get a different char I ended up with the Human Torch. For a while. But I decided to get up off of my wallet and purchase Iron Man. Totally different game now. Leveled him up to 10 in one session and I am loving the game now. Who doesn’t want to play as Tony Stark?
Iron Man and Storm are by far the easiest two characters to level, in my experience. Especially once Iron Man gets the passive that restores his shields, with the shield-explode ability that restores anti-matter, you can essentially spam abilities forever once you hit level 20-something. Of course before that you can still just re-cast the shield, it’s just that the conversion is less efficient both in time and spirit. I’ve been trying to get Scarlet Witch up, but she just feels like a wimpy Storm so far. Great at clearing trash, bosses take for days. I think I need to put that Artifact on her that causes bleed and restores your spirit when you cause bleeding, as I’m nowhere close to being able to give her the spirit restore runeword that seems almost mandatory to play her properly.

I’ve had battles with Electro at even strength where he barely took any of my health while I just stood toe to toe with him and spammed repulser blasts until he died. It’s almost too easy.
I’m also having a bit of trouble with SW after having gotten Storm to 60. One of her basics restores spirit on hit, but it’s slower and weaker than the other basic, so it doesn’t really make any sense to use. I might wait for her 52 review, but I don’t even think she’s on the schedule yet, so I’d be waiting a while.
I think I remember hearing that they fixed her Bewildering Hex without powering up anything else she uses and she was mostly handling bosses via the brokenness of Bewildering Hex. (I.e. she could just permaconfuse bosses and never take damage.)
You guys who are struggling with Scarlet Witch should have a look at Demiluna’s thread on the SW sub-forums. He’s a twitch streamer and a bit of a Scarlet Witch master (plays her in raids etc). His first post is updated with a post-2015 build/approach and he’s still answering questions in there (and on his daily streams).
Despite my addiction to playing as many characters as possible (I have 11 heroes on the go, not counting my level 9 Captain America or my 8 heroes at level 5 or less), I finally got my first level 60 yesterday - Colossus. I was finally able to open some of the level 60 anniversary loot! And one of the loot-splosions from a few weeks ago that I’ve been saving. He needs a respec but I think I’ll grab the power points from the 3 story modes first, so I won’t be trying the harder cosmic terminals for the time being. I ran through cosmic Doc Ock without too much trouble though.
There is patching going on right now for Silver Surfer’s release. Cake is back too. Here’s the notes. Note this: “We have another anniversary month event planned for next week. You will not want to miss it.”

Steam is offering 50% off on a bunch of the hero packs over in their store. For some reason I can’t get the Steam site to show me a list of all of them, keeps showing only a partial list, but here’s the MH forum thread with all the links. I think I’m gonna get the Avengers team pack; I don’t yet have Iron Man, Cap, or Hulk, and I could use the extras for Ms Marvel.
Yep, I grabbed Spidey yesterday.

Wow, are there enough Silver Surfers around now?
Though not a true sale, there is a pretty good looking new bundle up on Marvel Heroes store - Bring On The Bad Guys + More Pack. For $60 bucks, you will get Mr. Fantastic, Star-Lord, Rogue, Venom, Juggernaut, Magneto when they are released, an alternate costume for each, and their stashes. I haven’t bought any of the bundles yet, but I seriously thinking about shelling out the money for this one.
Feel free to get a Bad Guy bundle for me ;)

Nah, there’s like 40 pixels of the ground that don’t look like space. Need another surfer to cover that one!
(Seriously, that space rift graphic is cool for single player, but annoying as fuck when it’s eating every single ground effect as long as it’s down!)
I picked up Hawkeye in the Steam sale because £3.50 was just too little money to worry about. I’m tempted by Gambit too but I think I’ll be sensible and wait for a bigger price drop (and skip him if one doesn’t appear). I really can’t decide what to do with that Bring On The Bad Guys bundle. I’m pretty keen on Starlord, Rogue and Magneto but as I’m definitely going to pay actual money for Nova whenever they’re able to release him, I might try and be disciplined and get those three with splinters.
I too am loving Surfer. I got him up to 40 yesterday (yay for my XP buffs). I was a bit sad to see no new team ups this patch - I’ve got all these splinters just crying to be used!
Just a word of caution, Hawkeye feels really weak early on. He apparently becomes monstrous when geared out (his uniques are really good).
Surfer is up to 51. Having a blast. Loving him, but worried about being squishy in cosmics and raids. Only one unique drop, and it was his slot 2, which I didn’t even put on. Got a stash full of daily boxes and other stuff to gear him out at 60.
On a side note, insignia of IW is rather handy. I’d never used one. It has a chance to turn you and allies invisible when attacked, and appears to have no/minimal cooldown.

Edit: Having said that and playing Surfer for a bit. Does anyone think he’s a bit OP?
That’s the fear of me and a friend of mine, yeah. That he might get a bit of a nerf in the next week or two.

Considering that on normal I can pretty much stand toe to toe with anything and spam my basic left click attack until they die, sad to say, I expect some kind of nerf. Sad that. :-)
That sounds like any character to me. :)
