Their designer literally said “we expect zero positive feedback from this” so maybe don’t do it then? Takes some balls to admit you’re fucking over your customers, directly to their face.

Actually, they announced that now you get one extra one for the first prestige, and a second one for cosmic if you’re so inclined.

Inasmuch as the actual idea is to give you a costume that you can wear and put bonuses on as you level without sacrificing all of those hard fought bonuses/cores for your actual endgame level costume, that seems fine.

Personally, if they want to take away freebie grinder costumes from repetitive play I’m fine with it. Particularly if it makes their revenue stream so they don’t have to keep burying new, highly desired costumes in fucking $95/costume fortune cards!

I don’t think the fortune cards are 95 bucks instead of prestiging. But I encourage anything which would help them get their money in less extortionary ways than putting highly sought after items in lottery tickets, effectively.

Anyone who thinks that re-levelling a character 3 times to 60 to get a “free” costume is worthwhile has no flipping sense of the value of their time, or is a teenager on summer break. Even the most generous effort I can put on it (A $20 costume, and 2 hours per character to get to 60) still makes it come out to a “value” of like $3.33 an hour. I mean, if you enjoy playing a character that much, more power to you. That’s great. But then you probably don’t care so much about the costume. If you’re using this to effectively skirt the horrible cost of costumes, though, you’d be better served doing some temp work somewhere, for -anyone- for a couple hours.

Fuck, if you’re in Utah come mow my lawn for 3 weeks and I’ll buy you a costume. :P

Well, the ineffablebob stable of heroes has had a good event weekend. Played probably 3-4 hours each day, about 3 times what I normally would. Spent about half that on either Storm or Ms Marvel, the rest split between all my other characters. Mostly the 60s, although I did play a little while on the lower guys and got several levels on each. Not optimal, I know, but sometimes you just feel like a raccoon.

Ms Marvel is probably my strongest toon, and I haven’t even finished buying blessings for all her artifacts yet. She’s awfully tough at 22k HP and 10k defense, and between Crashdown Strike and her signature power, she dishes out the damage too. Got her Cosmic Control rod up to level 4, so between that and Energy Absorption, spirit is almost never an issue any more. I feel a little silly using Fred Dawson’s Hot Dog Cart in slot 3, but hey, it’s good. :) Ran a bunch of cosmic terminals solo, then waded into the LFG channel for more cosmics and a Bovenheim (first time I’d done that) with her.

Storm feels pretty strong now, too. The powers review was good, as I mentioned earlier. Also helps that I boosted her damage a decent amount by finding a Advanced Kree Hyper-Optics (+518 damage rating against slowed targets) and getting her M’Kraan Crystal legendary up to rank 3 (+500 damage rating). She’s a better boss-killer than my Black Widow now, in large part due to all the slows, which seem to be better at keeping me alive than the invis/taunt that Natasha uses (for my playstyle, anyway). I probably need to re-think her runeword at some point…it’s Seer’s Brilliance right now, which is nice for the health and +1 Int, but more damage would probably make more sense.

Up over 1000 eternity splinters now, and I’m thinking about buying another team-up. I like my Magik, but I’ve always been partial to Firestar. Might get her and equip abilities/items that are best for active use, while leaving Magik equipped for passive bonuses. Hmm. Have to think about it. No rush, in any event.

I spent friday night & saturday morning getting Surfer to 60 and then the rest of my saturday gaming time rolling around with him. I’m not entirely sure what to do with Surfer at the moment. I need to retcon him but nobody seems to have a good build yet (and I’m pretty sure my current approach isn’t up to snuff either). I might have to burn a potion anyway and just expect to redo him again in the coming weeks/months.

On sunday I made the best gaming decision I’d made in a while - I respecced Colossus. I was going to wait until I had the storyline power points as well but I couldn’t wait any longer. So so good. It helped that through the event I had the missing pair of artifacts I needed and a solid cosmic ring to slot on. I blessed all 4 artifacts (Fandral), sorted out my Uru (and enchanted it with River Of Souls) and now he fucking rules again. His uniques aren’t sorted yet (I’ve found at least 20 for him but never a slot 2!) but he’s back to feeling pretty damn hard to kill and he’s actually able to kill things again. He’s running around with just shy of 29k health. I can take two consecutive Rhino charges. This is actually a terrible thing as it means I completely forget to dash out of the way with all my other characters!

I just need to get his legendary’s final rank, a better insignia (although I’ve got a solid one) and I think he’s still after a good level 60 costume core, although I might be wrong there. That lot plus his unques (or otherwise). I was lucky to get a cosmic Juggs medallion over the weekend as well.

Fandral blessings on Colossus? Interesting choice. There are some great artifacts with physical damage. Advanced crimson crystal and advanced circlet of cyttorak, advanced bannertech accelerator, etc

I went with Advanced Kung Fu, Advcanced Crimson Crystal, Advanced Starstone tooth, Advanced Super Soldier Serum. I’ve done a fair bit of switching things around during my time with Colossus but I ended up largely following this build (with some tweaks), which was pretty close to the conclusions of my own casual approach anyway. My health is up to about 31.5K now, which is nice!

Yeah, that bug (I assume it was a bug and not some cheeky deliberate niceness) was rather good. I got about 1 hour 15 minutes in - lots of cosmics, a couple of unstables, a bunch of runes (including my first Tyr), a couple of uniques and several Omega points. I also managed to get half the way to level 4 on Colossus’ Excalibur.

How often are you guys getting artifact drops? I’m lucky if I get one or two per 10 hours played, and they always seem to be Flames of Zarathos or Latverian Regalia or something.

I seem to get a decent number, certainly more than a couple in ten hours. Mostly from cosmic terminals if my memory serves, though, so if you’re not running those then maybe that’s the difference.
