The main thing about the Storm rework is that it made her less braindead than before. She used to be an incredibly boring “hold one button and kill everything except bosses while you pay attention to something other than the game” character, the way Cyclops often is now (his rework is on the way), but she’s now a lot more fun to play now that her giant mobile AoE skill got nerfed and you actually have to use her other skills.
I got Storm to 50 before the rework, then switched to Captain America. I maxed out Storm after the rework, finished Captain America while I still had huge boosts going (I had something like 400% bonus XP from active buffs and level 60 characters, doubled by the event), and am currently leveling Cyclops to 50. Planned schedule after that is Hulk/Wolverine/Black Panther (haven’t decided which, but am open to suggestions!), Rocket Raccoon once his rework hits, Loki, Emma Frost, and finishing Cyclops at some point in there when his rework hits.

Disagree. Reroll the brutal shades at the vendor as much as you can every day until you get a good set - they can get around 600 brutal rating and 6000+ brutal damage rating, plus a 4% perfect dodge. They are incredible on certain characters and for certain gearing choices. Buy a pair for future use.
You can always get the stuff in the Crimson Box outside of the event. And most of it is TBH not very good (the necklace, the ESP box, taskmaster’s, and white suit jacket, and hand of doom are all p. good but certainly not as good as the other stuff and you have almost a 50% chance of getting this crap). But you can’t get those shades outside of the event. Get the shades, homie.
it’s a lot of brutal damage rating, sure. But Brutal Damage rating is one of the worst stats in the game. The other problem is that most slot 5s have crit rating. But, if you’ve got a character who has 3-4000 crit rating without slot 5 and whose slot 5 doesn’t have a desirable tree bonus, it might work. If you could somehow manage that much crit without slot 1 or 5, and could equip the doomsaw in slot 1, you could easily push brutal% over 65 with Hela blessings. .

Brutal damage is one of the worst stats in the game…unless you have a high critical/brute rating (which those glasses are gonna help you with!)
If only there were characters, and artifacts, that let you push your critical chance north of 50%…NAH! ;)
The Doomsaw is absolutely terrible tho, you need the damage in Slot 1 so I’m not recommending that. But if you have a character geared with a crit chance north of 50% (and, admittedly, there aren’t a ton of them) then the Brutal Shades are beastly. BEASTLY. And you won’t be able to get it after this event (which will run again at the end of summer, to be sure). So maybe think about this once-in-a-blue-moon potentially-awesome-unique that you can get for half the price of the box with the 50% chance to give you a booby prize.
(I might be bitter because I got the Taskmaster guide out of my Crimson Box. Booooooo)

If sites are going to be giving away hero boxes, they really should have more than a few thousand codes available, so that they last more than half an hour. As it is now, they all disappear the instant a huge community like Reddit or Something Awful sees the promo.
I heard about the Italian promo around 10 AM eastern, so the code was active for a little while (I got a Gambit out of it, and that was a new one for me). But yeah, once those things hit reddit, it’s all over.
Was in-game and heard about a code from Gaz, SDCCMH2015 - gives a random hero box. I got a dupe, Psylocke.

After a long period of “this give away has ended” I got two hero boxes today. It pays to drop by the MH forum several times a day. One box got me Ms. Marvel I still haven’t opened the second one.

What the heck are the demon eyes or whatever that I’m getting for completing shared quests all of a sudden?
Huh. So that’s how they’re going to handle making raid stuff available out of raids. That’s reasonable, I suppose. I hope they work out a few other ways of obtaining them, though. The shared quests are pretty monotonous at the moment and the defender token drops from the XDef one are so unreliable that I just don’t bother if that’s the one that’s up.
Nicely rolled! I got Daredevil out of mine. Not someone I’d shell out money for, but since I’ve got him, I’ll try him out eventually.
Squirrel Girl is quite good.
I believe the last patch (Thursday?) increased the drop rate of medals in XDef - though it seems you have to make it though at least 10 waves. I know it’s random but since Thursday, every time I’ve made 10+ waves I’ve gotten at least 1 medal. I did one XDef where we made it to wave 15 and I got 7(!). Of course that’s balanced by twice making it to the low teens and only getting 1 medal. But anecdotically I’m finding it’s not as painful as it has been before.
Also, I try to combine my shared quest completion with my characters’ legendary quest completion (when possible), so it makes things go a little smoother.
I do like SG, though my SG has the absolute worst luck imaginable. I’ve played her quite a bit, including a few hours over the weekend. The only unique drops I’ve EVER seen with her are all her slot 4. Coming into the weekend I had 3 of the gun things and 2 of the bows (I’m using a bow). So I’m in MM, doing a quest or whatever, and a unique drops. And sure enough, it’s the gun… again. So I think… “hey, trade those 4 guns in at the crafter for a unique I can use!”. So I go to the crafter and do the 4 for 1 swap. And I get (you guessed it)…
