Wait, do you mean you’re done with ME3? You reached the end?
Be sure to join us in the spoiler thread once you’re done.
Or, if you don’t want to talk about the ending, we also have the ‘endless’ spoiler thread where you’re allowed to talk about the whole game, but not the ending, since the ending always brings out strong emotions.
I’m not done! I’m not THAT fast. Stupid work comes in between. =)
But I’ll definitely go straight to tthe spoiler threads.
Holy crap, did we really have three ME3 threads? We might have lost our minds a little.
BTW - there is an ME3 Mod that actually moves the Citadel content to the end of the game. Granted, works better if you also use one of the happy ending mods, and you have to sort of go with the fact that the Citadel gets repaired real damn quick, but in terms of playing the game and being able to leave off with that - I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Marc Laidlaw is leaving BioWare.
I was following this on either Reddit or Neogaf yesterday (forget which one, they kind of blend together).
There basically is no more Bioware as we’ve known it. It’s now just another lump of digested shit spat out of EA’s twitching, corpulent asshole.
I loaded from this saved game, and I found the galaxy full of hostiles. Except for the Citadel, so I figured out how to get to the citadel (you have to fly your little ship around the map, how cute!) and went to deck after deck. I gave up after 4 decks. There’s no new content here at all, as far as I can tell.
Buying the Citadel DLC has been a total waste so far.
Except I have figured out how to travel and how to interact with people, and how to interact with the Normandy’s Galaxy map. So that’s a good start.
I guess next I’ll try to figure out what the heck I need to do to trigger the Citadel DLC.
Here we go, Citadel walkthrough:
I’ll try again tomorrow.

Yea, that e-mail and invitation from Admiral Hackett rings a bell. I think you had to wait for that.

After buying new DLC, once you load the point of no return save, Traynor will immediately nag “Shepard you have new email”.

Oh that is rich… So you are at the end of the main M3 plot. The reapers are invading earth, all seems lost, and then you are like, “Its time to go to the citadel for some shore leave” where everything is normal until you done and then it is like, “Oh Yeah! Reapers! End of everything! Better get on that stat!”
The MEHEM mod actually gives you the option to move the Citadel mission to after the main storyline. Obviously, that means Sheppard survives (although the mod title probably gives that away), but it puts the party sometime after the Citadel is fixed. Story-wise, it definitely works better.

That’s pretty much the fundamental flaw of ME3’s storytelling with or without the DLC. How can you justify any side quests when Earth is burning? Story-wise, it drew heavily on the good will and world-building of the prior installments to move forward with minimal new lore or creativity. Good to see a lot of things resolved, but did not lay a foundation for the future.

Tonally Citadel DLC is incongruent with the (DC) grim dark main story line. It is pretty much a fan service final DLC anyway. IMO the least inappropriate time to do it is right after stopping Udina (which is the half way point in the main story line), Shepard is still on Citadel to mop up, may as well take some shore leave.
I finally was able to start the Citadel DLC last night. I only got around to listening to Anderson’s logs all over his apartment, but that still was entertaining. It’s nice to hear from him again. I have to admit, Anderson’s part of the ending kept flashing through my mind throughout the playing of audioclips.
OK so, yeah, I am not letting this topic die, I realize, but I really had to share this. Don’t know if you all are aware, but there’s a pretty cool weekly YouTube video by voice actors Troy Baker and Nolan North where they both play through retro games together called, naturally enough, Retro Replay. But they got roped into a couple of extracurricular videos where they came across a few top ten lists of the two actors best performances, and they recorded the reactions of each to the others’ top ten lists. They’ve done this a couple of times but I just now noticed the latest one, that’s one of Troy Baker’s top tens, and I had to link the number 8. It’s this video:
Skip to 3:15 to see the piece I’m talking about - I didn’t realize until just now that Troy Baker voiced Kai Leng. And look at his reaction to Kai Leng being put on a top ten list of his vocal performances.

Every Fan: “Happy N7 Day… Tell us something… Anything…”
