Well I do die less, I’m sure you are right. But additionally when I have died to a boss fight, for instance, I’ve never been kicked to the beginning of the mission upon restore.

I haven’t reached any boss fights yet, so I can’t comment on that part either way.

I think they redid the checkpoints with the latest patch. You used to get rewound all the way to the end of the last fight you did. Now it seems to autosave before each fight too which is much better.

The dudes with the shield and orb, those are bosses right? You did the Amhara rescue at the kett base on Voeld already right?

No idea who you are talking about.

And no, I don’t know who Amhara is.

Sorry that was autocorrect. Should have said “angara”. I thought you said you were near the end of the game?

I am definitely not near the end of the game. But I am near the end of the Kett Base on Voeld, which is what I was talking about. I probably forgot to type that in my post this morning.

EDIT: By the way, from this exchange, I have now learned that there is likely more than one Kett Base. It’s just that the one on Voeld is the first one I’ve encountered.

It was my first too, though I guess you could have hit the one on Eos first, I just ended up holding off on it since it sounded like a big deal. I don’t think I’ve really spoiled anything for your experience, I mean I doubt finding out there are bosses in an RPG is much of a revelation?

Oh no, you’re fine Spoiler-wise.

Just to catch up on my run, I’m at about 100 hours and I believe I’m pretty much at the end. I’ve got some wrap up quests I can still do on several planets or I can power through to the resolution and keep playing after (I can do that right? There’s no hard ending?).

I’m still enjoying it but I’m ready for a new game. I don’t want to burn out, like I often do with Bethesda games. I like the characters, I like the exploration, combat has for the most part been really fun, which is high praise from me. I’ll probably want to try out Insanity after a break, play some other games I’ve accumulated. The bugs have been annoying but not enthusiasm-killing, though of course that’s YMMV. The game gave me what I hoped for, and that’s about all I can ask. Hoping for some great DLC next.

I’m at 65 hours or so and ready to dig into the main quest and finish the game. I worry I’ll miss a great side quest if I skip some, though. Peebee’s remnant quests were a blast. She’s a fun character.

Oh and hey, someone might have mentioned this but I only just noticed - women’s armor doesn’t have boobs! How wild is that? I bet somewhere there’s a whole subforum for bitching about that.

Ironically, my male Ryder looked like he had boobs while he was wearing the Helius Defender rank 3 suit.

Sounds like something out of a Seinfeld episode, you know.

Yeah you can do that.

Cool - also, I got to make sexy time with Cora last night and I thought it was kinda hawt. But I’m probably an easy mark. Next time I’m going Peebee!

One other thing - I feel kind of guilty because I totally chased after four women (well, two women and two asari) and the game let me get away with it, no judgment. Now I feel kind of bad about it - one of them, the interviewer asari, even said she’d be my girl on the side, nobody would have to know. And I felt kind of dirty, which has never happened - not even when playing “I’ll fuck anything that moves” Geralt. Man, you know you’re getting old when you can’t even cheat in your fantasies.

Notice that all these are “older women” compared with broRyder. Only sisRyder and Liam are of similar age.

Sure the asari are, but then they’re older than just about anybody. No idea how old Cora is in relation to Scott, is that listed somewhere?

Well she is old enough to have war stories with asari commandos, but the Ryder siblings are in early 20s. You do the saucy math.

OK. So we’re guessing. I guess she could be ten years older which maybe puts her in cougar territory - but I don’t think she necessarily has to be, either. I don’t know how long she was with the alliance or the asari commandos, for one thing.
