What fixed it for me (this is stupid, and Asobo should be ashamed)
1 Download NetLimiter
2 Use it to limit the MSFS download speed to 500 kbps
3 ???
4 Profit!
The resets are because your download speeds are too fast for the updater.
Thanks for the tips, guys. Iāll try the NetLimiter. Checked my bandwidth usage this morning, Iām at 1TB out of 1.25TB, so Iām still under thank goodness, but I think Iāll hold off downloading large patches until next billing cycle (four days).
FWIW, I have a gigabit connection (over WiFi, admittedly) and havenāt had this issue, but sounds like it may be a problem in some cases.

Took the Savage Carbon Cub (mod) out for a spin in DennyA/WoolenHorde country. Very windy up there today but a fun plane to fly. Was having some mild stuttering which may be the mod but who knows.

Is that the default livery on the savage carbon cub? It looks cool! The inside looks really clean as well.
Minor update this morning. 1.11.6.0
Bunch of small fixes.

No but it comes with a whole bunch of really nice liveries. Worth checking out!

Iām away for a week, possibly two, so itās a good time to get acquainted with South America via the Socata, if anybody fancies it.

Sounds good. Iām on business travel this week but will be setting up the new desktop on Monday. Iāll try it out. I have one more business trip before year end though. Just hoping I left enough in the FSE account to cover monthly dues for the aircraft.
I saw this guy being very, very happy about his replica Spitfire stick. I love his enthusiasm :)
You may get some enjoyment out of NeoFly, then. The core of it is choosing and flying randomly generated missions in planes you either buy or (if you have funds) rent on a one-off basis. You donāt just get A-B hauling, it also generates off-field missions where you have to deliver a doctor to an accident (landing within 2nm of an arbitrary point), or air-drop ācontrabandā cargo by going to a certain point and flying low and level for a time, or give people a flightseeing tour by circling an area for a while⦠it keeps the variety up.
(And the doctor missions, in particular, can be a lot of fun if youāre playing in a rugged area with a nice STOL craft like one of the Cubs.)
You might not get the same variety in trucks that you do in ETS, but it can definitely have you going places and doing things you otherwise wouldnāt normally. You can also hop from area to area, although you need to pay and it can get expensive if youāre jumping across oceans.
Always a good time. :D
The Savage Carbon has performed pretty well for me, itās not a very demanding model. Iād suspect it was more likely scenery or something else going on on your machine at the time.

Hey this is awesome!
Iām reloading right now on the new rig. I canāt wait to see how much different things look. Or to finally try it in VR in a couple of weeks for that matter.

Did you get a new computer or new video card?

All of the above. My gaming laptop wouldnāt drive the new VR headset. Iām loading everything from new on a new full PC.

When I installed originally from steam, I got the premium deluxe completely installed. It seems if you do it again from scratch you get the base game and need to redownload deluxe and premium deluxe. That is ⦠sub optimal. Shouldnāt it just show us our owned content to check/uncheck during a full reload?
The whole update process is suboptimal. I wish it would update in the background like all of my other steam games.
Iāve been noticing some weird glitchiness where planes will slowly lose power in the middle of a flight, and eventually crash. My Onair company is in the northeast, so I wonder if this is actually a realistic simulation of icing ( Iāve noticed that the cockpit ices up and I have to use the pitot heater or the IAS stops working.). If so, what do real pilots do to prevent or remedy such a situation? Surely not just avoid flying small planes in the cold?

OMG yes. And if they have a note about something, then you canāt even play any other gamepad game because the A button is mapped to going to āmore infoā on the update.

Pitot heat and avoiding cloud cover / moisture / precipitation if possible. Also lower altitudes if possible. But without some of the more extended de-icing features on the bigger aircraft, there isnāt much you can do once the air temp is very cold, even at lower altitudes.
Youāre describing leading edge and flight surface icing. Iām not sure how fully the sim models it, but if it really bugs you there is a specific realism setting on/off for icing.
EDIT: Actually re-read what you mentioned and I think it might just be engine power from not having pitot heat on. If that doesnāt correct it though, then youāre getting icing on your wing edge which adds weight and slowly kills lift, making things sluggish and hard to maintain altitude.
Will you clarify what the pitot heat does? I thought that it just corrected the problem with the IAS indicator, but truthfully I have no idea. Should I be turning that on sooner? Or longer? I like leaving the realism settings on as a general rule if thereās a realistic workaround thatās not too burdensome. I leave off realistic fuel mixture and comm operation because I feel like they are too difficult to mess with in the simulator. I do leave on realistic airframe stress, etc.
