I just hope I’ll use it more than I did my old CH Yoke. I’d always end up just using the stick because of the ease of setup, etc. But now that my stick and throttle just clamp on, and since these devices are so much better than those 90s designs, hopefully I’ll get my money’s worth out of it.

Their throttle quadrant look nice:

I’m flying vicariously via this thread, so a couple of requests from any Seattle dwellers. Ballard, Greenlake, and Capitol Hill. I recently moved from Seattle after living there for 20 years, so pining for some photos.

Cheers, awesome photos and vids here!

I mean, I know they know this, but that thing looks real! Like actually lifted out of some of the airplane models we’re flying.

They are working on an Airbus specific one as well. Or I guess it is an addon for the other throttle quadrant.

Yeah, that throttle quadrant is amazing, and it’s easily reconfigurable betwen, say, a four-engine jet or a single-prop setup. The Airbus setup vyshka mentions will be an add-on set of handles, but it includes Boeing-style big jet throttles in the box.

I was originally going to use the throttle with my joystick, but when I saw the Yoke in stock after it’s beeen backordered so long, my impulse-buying reflex kicked in.

(Vyskha edited as I was posting. ;)

Here is a shot outside Innsbruck while playing with the drone camera.

I’ll see what I can do later today.

By the way, does anyone know what the location is at 2:49 in that video?

Is it Rainbow Bridge, Niagara Falls?

I went looking for the source of the Nile! And eventually found it; google maps and bing maps have a very different look in their satellite photography of that area (Burundi), and I had to use them both to find the place. Down to lighting I think, but it looks so different, it took a lot of sleuthing to get there. It’s a little spring and a pyramid marker that are just flat textures in Flight Sim, but as usual they put too much water in the resulting ‘river’ so I might try and follow that for a while.

@Pedro got it. It’s Niagara Falls. I haven’t checked it in the sim, but I recognize it from RL. :) That’s the lame-o American Falls. (As opposed to the awesome horseshoe falls in Canada.)

Honeycombs are out of stock again this morning; glad I happened to check last night, that was quick!

Freedom Falls. Yes, I meant that pun.

New Patch is out.

Nice. So many technical things in there, it really hits home that this is a really technical sim with each plane potentially having it’s own issues.

I like these fixes at the end:

Regarding some things mentioned in this patch, I monitor CPU and GPU load when playing (along with CPU temp.) I use a gaming laptop, so it’s considered me being proactive and making sure things are okay, mostly around heat.

At any rate, I’ve noticed really strange results for when things get pegged. As an example, sometimes the game pauses completely while CPU and GPU remain fairly normal. I’m guessing that’s errors in streamed data or connection issues. At other times, my GPU will be fairly comfortable in the game playing range (40-50%, but CPU will absolutely be PEGGED at 100%. I can say without a doubt, the majority of those times are in-cockpit, and when upping the sim rate. It just seemed strange that of all things to peg, CPU hits more often than GPU, sim rate boosted or not.

I’ve seen the various player mods to help with CPU in-cockpit so now that it’s mentioned in the patch, I guess we’ll see where that goes.

Patch is 11.5 gigs, FYI.

Wow, I think we may have a winner for best autogen cock-up:

Haven’t done a before/after with the patch yet, but I’m getting a solid mid-30s to 40 fps over Rio, which is more than I was expecting.

@Ultrazen

I took too many pics to post them all but made you a small gallery here:

Hopefully a few can jog your memories there. Please note I’m not a Seattle native and have only visited twice in my life. I pulled the locations for most of these from Google maps.

It would be nice to have an “all bridges are no longer entirely underwater” fix. Although that might be a bit too much work for the 2nd patch. I assume it will come sooner or later.

Also a “airplanes can now fly under all bridges” would be nice too. I originally thought airplanes couldn’t fly under any bridges, but I think there are some that people have managed to fly through. But hey, I’m not considering it fixed, until I can fly under the Golden Gate.
