So has anyone had an issue where the LFD (for the pilot, anyway) and the AP screen in the A320 just went blank all of a sudden? I think it may be a simulated issue - both copilot screens still worked, and I could get the pilot’s LFD back on using the dimmer switch, but nothing I did brought the AP screen back. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Side note - the ILS button never lit up either. It worked - it turned on the ILS display in the LFD, it just didn’t light up to show it was on. Approach light worked fine.

The patch is working nicely for me. Some people say the weather doesn’t work right after one flight, but I’ve done two so far and I’m still getting real weather.

@Skipper already beat me to it, but @Ultrazen, I used to live in Washington, so I’m all too happy to fly around there. Today I flew with supposedly live weather, and things were pretty hazy around the city – is that accurate? Here’s my ascent out of Sea-Tac:

But south, toward The Mountain, the cloud cover was less dense. I had some nice views of Mt Rainier and the Cascades. (My graphics settings were only on Medium, so the clouds don’t look fabulous in this shot.) Flying around here sure makes me miss this place.

That’s awesome thanks a ton!

I’ve done a couple flights out of Renton. It sure is pretty up there.

I also took a flight around where I grew up in Iowa. Could see my high school and a few other things. I’ll have to fly around a bit more at lower altitude to see how our house looks.

Seattle area is covered in smoke right now so I’d say that looks accurate.

Just fired up the game after the patch - I lost all mappings my for CH Yoke and Pedals. :(

Oh, you think the landing challenges are hard for you?

Wow that’s a wide monitor.

Dell 34" ultrawide – 3440x1440 resolution.

It’s nice, but I now LG has a 49" super-ultra-wide with 5120x2160 resolution. In case anyone needs to justify an RTX 3090.

I’ve only flown the A320 twice so I haven’t seen that issue. I have seen blanking, or in my case, UI disappearing once pre-patch. I know there was a lot related to AP and specifically the airliners for the patch. Is this pre-patch or post-patch?

Hell, I’m just glad I have an ALT knob now in multiple aircraft. I do feel like they are getting there, for what it’s worth. Still, a lot of this should have been feedback from alpha/beta. So maybe they were rushed for release or not but a lot the lack of functionality was noticeable at least.

Are you just flying the A320, mostly?

That cat tax is getting serious, Denny. I think that’s an intervention, not a landing challenge.

Noticed a few things great in the patch, I had real weather (and wind) for my first flight. That’s all I’ve done, but as @spock mentioned, some people are saying real weather is still bugged a bit. The ALT knobs are in!! Thank god. Looking forward to see more of it later.

I keep expecting the marketplace store to take off any day, I’m kind of surprised it’s been slow. I’m guessing that maybe they are gatekeeping what goes on the store for now? It would be so much nicer if it was ALL combined, so Marketplace plus Community stuff available to browse in-game. As it stands we’re still having to separate and go to third party sites since, “official,” only means pay-for-it.

I mean, I don’t blame them, Xplane does the same. But it would be nice to have one site, one community, one place to go, IN GAME for anything going forward (mostly.)

So far I’ve visited the marketplace only once, to get the free European airport. The game crashed when I tried to load it, but that may be because a stupid Windows notification came on at the same time. But yes, I’m looking forward to browsing it as it grows.

I’m looking forward to my next OnAir flight, from Anchorage to Gulkana, an untowered airport near the Canadian border, in the mountains. It will require a quick ascent to a Victor airway heading east, and then a pretty rapid descent too. Bit of a challenge in the Cessna 172. The destination airport turns into a ski strip in winter – I kid you not!

I haven’t done many of the landing challenges yet, but I’ve done both of the “current” challenges. Today’s was landing at Nice, on the French Riviera, in a Baron. I enjoyed it, and while my landing wasn’t a thing of beauty, I was in 3000th place or something, which is an improvement over my last effort. :)

I know I commented earlier but apparently, it isn’t just the A320…

That’s mah plane!! I’m on it. I’ll probably fail miserably as it isn’t a porpoise challenge (which I’ve struggled with a lot in the Baron.)

Twin Otter and CRJ on the way!

Sorry if I’m pumped about that, one is a STOL medium passenger plane of lore and the other the tried and true short haul passenger plane jet. Both are a big deal for us FSE and OnAir fans.

I just want my F-15 and Spitfire.

Yes. I just like flying airliners and being a virtual tourist. And although the way the AP worked was a lot different than in FSX, once I figured it out thanks to some instructional videos, it worked OK. It’s not perfect yet, but I’m guessing it’ll get there over time. Still having issues w/ the 787 AP, and haven’t tried the 747 yet. And looking forward to the 737 early next year (forget the 3rd party making that).

Unfortunately going to have to shelve this until the I can get a 3070 in my machine. My sad little 1050 just can’t keep up. All the videos and screenshots I see are of magnificent visual splendor and then I look at the pixelated mess on my own screen and get sad.

I can run with most settings on Ultra on my 1080 and get 25-30 fps.

On my 660 in my secondary rig, I get 15-20 fps and it looks like an abstract oil painting.

Needless to say, I am anxious for Nvidia to get their 30x0 card availability issues sorted out. The update email on my HP Reverb G2 preorder this morning hints that I need not be in a rush for more performance on that front; sounds like it’s going to take a while to fulfill the existing preorders. (But I’ll take that over the annoying way that the Nvidia thing unfolded.)

Sorry to hear that, Charmtrap. Hang in there, man. With a newer card you’ll be in awe at the scenery, I’m sure. I’m on a 2080 mobile and it’s gorgeous. It has certainly fired up the sim player in me that I nearly forgot I had.

@charmtrap Sorry to hear that. But I’m using a GTX 980, which is a slower card than yours, isn’t it? Plus my CPU is 8 or 9 years old, @2.8 GHz, though I do have 12G of RAM. I get lovely visuals on “Medium”. I can even play on “High” quality visuals at less crowded spots. But I play in 1200 x 800, which is probably unacceptable to most users. I haven’t even tried increasing the resolution to 1920 x 1200; maybe I will and will report what happens. Have you tried Medium with a 1200 x something resolutoin?

It looks like PMDG is starting to work on some planes for FS2020. They will be very detailed if it is like their FSX planes.

I think the 980 is quite a bit better than the 1050. It’s the “80” and “50” part that counts, not the 9 or 10, as I understand these things.
