When the moon is in its first crescent (waxing after a new moon) it should set in the west near the sunset and you should be able to get both in the same shot.) Right now, the moon is gibbous waxing toward full and will be in the eastern sky when the sun sets.

Yeah, saw their post on FB apologizing for their support backlog (a couple thousand people using support tickets for âwhen will I get my throttle?â making it hard for them to find actual support requests) and with all the info in the FSElite post.
That looks really nice and premium. But honestly, for the amount of the flight I use rudder pedals, my ancient CH Products pedals are plenty good enough. If they ever die of old age, Iâd consider the Honeycomb pedals because Iâm so in love with the Yokeâs quality.
But Iâm not going to spend $x99.99 just for my shoes to be pressing against metal instead of plastic for coordinated turns and the first and last minutes of flightâŚ

You ever fly an F-14? Because if you did, youâd appreciate a good set of rudder pedals ;) That said, CH is fine.
I rock a 2nd hand MFG crosswinds set, built by a Croat engineer in his workshop. They are exquisite.

Rudder pedals; so theyâre for steering the plane left and right? And that feels intuitive?
Helicopters have you using your feet all the time right? I wonder if theyâll be really useful once the helicopter expansion comes out?

The rudder pedals are for steering while taxiing, swinging wildly on takeoff (depending on the plane) and then wondering what to do with in flight. But then again Iâm not very good at this.
I know thereâs supposed to be some rudder action in proper turns but I can never tell if Iâm doing it right. The fact all my controls seem oversensitive in MSFS isnât helping. I get a lot of response out of the slightest nudge. The sensitivity controls donât appear for my any of my CH gear so annoyingly I canât adjust anything or set deadspots.

When you roll the aircraft to the side, the air resistance vector of your wings, which is normal to the wing surface, becomes partially aligned with the gravity vector, which is always downward toward the earthâs center. This means the plane will tend to slip towards the lower wing like a knife through butter. You counter-act this slip tendency by 1) increasing the angle of attack, which moves the normal vector of the wing surface away from the same plane as the air stream, lessening the slip effect. And 2) putting on opposite rudder, which yaws the plane back towards straight flight. The steeper the bank angle, the more rudder is needed. Done properly, the level turn indicator bubble will remain in the center of the glass and the aircraft occupants will perceive no change in the direction of âdown.â

Use the turn coordinator instrument to tell if youâre applying the correct amount of rudder while in a turn. The "ballâ should be centered if youâre properly executing a coordinated turn. If the ball is on the left side of center, apply left rudder, and vice versa if the ball is on the right side. The way to remember this, as every student pilot learns, is to step on the ball

So to initiate a turn smoothly give a little rudder with the turn but once banked over opposite rudder?

I think the first patch broke the sensitivity controls, hopefully they fix it with the Japan update this week.

Your turns should be coordinated at all times. Unfortunately, itâs easier said than done and is just one of those things you have to learn via practice and repetition. Applying too much or too little rudder until you get the "feelâ for the proper amount is something every stupid pilot goes through.

I imagine itâs one of the things that is a lot easier when you are getting feedback from your inner ear and not just from staring at a simulated gauge.

Just adding the same indicator for those with glass cockpits instead.
That little marker pointed at with the arrow is the same as the ball there on the older guages. You want to keep it just under the triangle pointed up for a coordinated turn.

Are the peddles arranged so that you yaw in the opposite direction that you push? I.e, if you push right, you move the rudder right and yaw left? I didnât know that. My joystick twists in the direction of yaw. Twist right=rudder left=yaw right. I kind of think of it as the back of my hand moving the rudder.

And Iâm certainly not saying rudder pedals arenât super-useful. Just that for the portions of the flight where I use them, my 90âs-era CH pedals and my inexpensive Thrustmaster TFRP pedals do just fine. I canât imagine spending $570 on a pair of Thrustmaster TPR pedals.

This is absolutely the case, in addition to being able to feel the pressure and resistance of the controls themselves.

No, left pedal = rudder goes left = left yaw and vice versa as shown in this picture:

Thanks for posting that, I completely missed the indicator.
This made me go find the real manual: https://static.garmincdn.com/pumac/190-00384-12_0A_Web.pdf
Mine arrive Wednesday finally, so Iâll report back. I have them paired with the Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS.
SO. JEALOUS.
Iâve been wanting to upgrade from my entry-level Thrustmaster T.Flight to a Warthog HOTAS ever since MSFS was released, but theyâre been consistently sold out everywhere. :(
