How about using rudders just before landing? All too often, I drift to one side or the other of the runway just as I’m about to touch down. Using ailerons at this stage is iffy, because you might land on one wheel, and because control authority is weakest at this slow speed. So I try to correct with rudders. Doing this does keep the plane level, mostly, but the plane also shudders and becomes unstable in other ways. Can anyone advise?
Yep, I’m of the same opinion. The Honeycomb rudder looks awesome, but If I’m going to spend the money, I’d like to get that snazzy Honeycomb throttle. I’m actually quite happy with my (relatively) cheap Saitek yoke.

I had to do the same thing not long after trying this sim. I knew nothing about the G1000s. YouTube, and the manual, have helped a lot. Especially around using that PFD and the COM/NAV/AP stuff. I’m a long way from where I was initially. It’s been fun learning it.
Also, Matt had linked an article earlier I believe on glass cockpit failures but it was interesting reading all the redundancies built into the system itself. Since there are entire aircraft now with little to no analog backup gauges, it’s important to note just how much thought went into system failures and planning for it.

Logical Airlines (Thunder) finds Spock in Osaka, where he’s rented a Bonanza. Logical Airlines (Stratus) now has two full-time employees – Spock and fellow pilot Victoria Bergman. I tried to find a Kirk or a McCoy; I’ll keep looking.
Victoria is flying small jobs around Hawaii in our rented C172. Spock is doing our level 5 “World Tour” in the Caribbean, in a rented Bonanza G36. For his shakedown cruise in the new bird, he flew some medical equipment 29 miles along the south coast of the Dominican Republic for a tidy payment of $5000. (It pays to beeline toward the medical cert on the skill tree.) Lots of trees below, pretty ocean views, and both airfields were interesting. Even ordinary clouds like these look great.

Here’s a nice shot of me coming in for a landing in Spain as one of my level 5 flights.
A couple of minutes later, I noticed the autopilot didn’t give a shit about the glideslope, tried to override it and had it force me into a stall and crash. That was fun.

> A whistleblower complaint today came in from Logical Airlines where one employee stated, “our CEO is picking up drugs and hookers all over the Caribbean while we’re just trying to keep things afloat.” The SEC is investigating and federal authorities have alerted multiple local law enforcement agencies for other nations involved.
Random shots over the last few days.

A view of SEATAC from above. By the way the TBM is now located at KSEA. Again, feel free to take her wherever you want to roam. There is no home.

Couple of pro-tips for OnAir:
- You can start your plane on the runway. Just shut down the engine, turn off all lights but strobe, start tracking with the OnAir client, then restart the engines and turn on the rest of your lights.
- OnAir can’t automatically load cargo because of some issue with MSFS (none of the addons can.) But you can load it manually yourself. When you do, note that the TBM has a rear and forward baggage compartment. If you load all the cargo in the rear, it sure makes taking off interesting.

It’s out!

I haven’t tried it yet, hope to tomorrow. Reading the website, it sounds good, but I hope that a native English speaker has helped on the messages. :)

Stepping into the rudder debate again:
When all you do is taxi and coordinate turns, any rudder will do, even stick twist or the sort of paddles you get on certain throttles. It’s when you start flying helicopters, or do some of that fancy pilot shit such as aerobatics or fighter stuff that good pedals start coming into their own.
Are you suggesting the Canyon of Doom isn’t a real place??

Well that’s terrifying. I suppose there is no escape?
Patch 3 is out, and Japan available from marketplace. If you’re on MS.
Steam - still not out yet (at least when I checked about 5 minutes ago).

Ugh! I assume you were using APPR mode rather than NAV mode? APPRoach mode has worked for me so far, but I’ve only used it a handful of times.
A spokesman for Logical Airlines responded: “Lies! The CEO is picking up exotic medications and service personnel, not drugs and hookers.”
@Skipper and @Matt_W : such pretty screenshots!
Do I need to worry about this? I just click the little box in OnAir and go on my way. Are you saying the sim is acting as if I’m not carrying the cargo?
I’m excited about the bush pilot plugin and Japan! Logical Airlines (Thunder) is based in Japan now, ready to go!

Yeah, if you don’t load it yourself, it will fly empty. OnAir disabled weight checking until MSFS fixes its connect plugin to allow cargo loading. AND if you try to add cargo after you’ve started flight tracking, it will reset your fuel to 50% (which has screwed me a couple of times without knowing about it.) Add cargo in the flight setup screen (go to the aircraft selection menu and you can adjust fuel/weight) before going into your flight.
Wow, so this 7GB patch doesn’t even include the Japan content.
Nope. That’s a separate (1.5 GB, if I remember the screenshot correctly) download.
Also, the update is on Steam now - you have to restart Steam tho. You’ll know it’ll work when the first screen you see is no longer SFO, but Mount Fuji.
Edit: Corrected Japan scenery download size.

Are the sensitivity controls fixed?
According to the patch notes. Haven’t checked in game.
