MIND CONTROL DELETE - The next SUPERHOT

MIND CONTROL DELETE is a standalone expansion set in the SUPERHOT universe. It’s designed as a roguelike twist on the linear nature of the original SUPERHOT. Tapping into the same fundamental gameplay mechanics, SUPERHOT MIND CONTROL DELETE distills and expands upon the intoxicating rhythm of slow motion combat. The game will force you through dozens of increasingly difficult time-moves-only-when-you-move gameplay challenges. Each challenge will make you more powerful and bring you closer to deciphering the secrets hidden from you by the system. As you unlock powerful abilities and gain access to new playable characters, so will your enemies grow stronger, smarter, and more desperate to stop you.

In a throwback to the community-driven development of the original Kickstarted SUPERHOT, the expansion launches on Steam Early Access this week.

The roguelike expansion already features a new playable character, dozens of levels, revamped AI and animation systems, procedurally generated runs, and an unlockable powerup system. The first upcoming content update drops in January and will introduce the first batch of powerful unlockable gameplay modifiers, new weapons, and four unique new levels added to the location pool.

Over the coming nine months of updates, the team will introduce the remaining two playable characters, multiple new enemy types, a whole arsenal of new weapons and abilities, and a deep, non-linear story, tightly entwined with the SUPERHOT universe.

Meh, this game was wildly overrated. The best thing about it was the old-school DOS game UI semantics they used.

I love Super Hot and Mind Control Delete hasn’t disappointed. The new wrinkles they throw at you were fun to overcome. I just hit Core / Node 100 though and I think that’s my cue that I’ve had enough. It is feels like it is starting to drag and I’m not sure the payoff is worth it to keep going. Looking at the achievement percentages it looks like most people have dropped out by now. The last one I got 13.4% got to, but the next one only 6.6%.

Feels like there is quite a bit more filler in this game, but still great.
