You should be able to get the seed out of the map save somehow… I want it.

He must be using the More Trees! mod, as you can see him run across vines early on.

I think it’s fake. It looks way more like something you’d get from the Biome Terrain Mod than from vanilla Minecraft.

Yeah he could be trolling, but that’s certainly not Eagle’s Paradise.

Yeah, that shows the standard Java log, output below, but it’s nothing useful from what I can tell.

Obviously faked. There is a jump in the video right after world generation, if his whole “sorry guys I’m not going to reveal my seed to this awesome world that I MIGHT get!” didn’t clue you in.

Out of curiosity - does it seem like the spawn rate on normal is out of control? If I set it to anything higher than easy I have a never ending stream of spiders coming after me (my current mining location is near a shadowy patch beneath a large overhang).

I have been noticing this since the Halloween patch even, I think. It’s kind of ridiculous to come out of your house in the morning and get jumped by four or five creepers at once. I like the added challenge that monsters provide, but it is really annoying when having a tiny amount of darkness somewhere will lead to Creepergeddon.

Monster spawns are heavily influenced by what the nearby cave systems are like. If you have extensive dark caves below you, then a lot of the monsters will spawn down there instead and you’ll see relatively few on the surface, but if there are few caves or they’ve been well-lit, then the monsters will concentrate on the surface.

In his response he claims he didn’t use BTMod but then references and links it. Either he’s bullshitting or more likely, he forgot he used it.

Either way he’d have to be bullshitting. He didn’t just update to Beta 1.3 and have the BTM still installed, it would have been overwritten by default in the minecraft.jar file.

And IIRC, the terrain mod tended to have bare open bedrock for the “sea floor,” which is something I’m not seeing in his world.

To me, refusing to upload the world is proof enough it was faked. There would be no other reason not to.

Now you can make your own Minecraft Hunter class. :)

Wendelius

The head-tilt animation when he was holding food out put a big grin on my face. I think I’d like that addition so long as they’re relatively rare.

I like how you gain them as followers by giving them a bone.

Don’t fit in the game, IMHO.

But Jeb is pouring a lot of love and hard work on then. That is obvious. Maybe he will create something that modders will be able to reuse to create interesting crap.

Very curious - why do you feel animal (or wolf in particular if that’s what you meant) followers would be a bad fit?

Is just my gut sense.

Anyway you don’t see wolfs alones, you see wolfs in packs. Hell “Lone wolf” and “Wolfpack” are part of the english language, I think.

Wolfs are very smart, social, and act like a group of commandos in enemy territory, like soldiers. Is ok for a pig, and maybe a cat, to move randomly, but it will be weird in a wolf.

I agree 100% Teiman. Solitary wolves will really make the game unrealistic.

Seriously though, I hope they will have different AI than the roaming animals.

That made me laugh.

Having some pets and things I think will fit into the whole bookcase/record player group of stuff that is in game. That said, I haven’t made either of those yet, but I can see myself trying to befriend a wolf. My world is lonely and full of skeletons!
