How do I take screen shots in minecraft and then how do I post them to the web? I have never done that before. I also do not think it will be particularly interesting to look at. The village is small and I am sure they do not have some screaming “I am on fire” AI stuff going on. Maybe they will. Who knows.

Hit F2 to take the screenshot and it’ll create a PNG file in %appdata%/.minecraft/screenshots. Upload that to some image host like imgur.com or tinypic.com and they’ll give you a link and/or BBCode to post.

So if I’m understanding you correctly… “How do I shot web?”

Mainly I want screenshots of when the lava goes somewhere it wasn’t supposed to and sets some trees on fire and then starts a chain reaction that burns down your castle.

WINNER!

Here is the album:

Ok, so I post these pictures everyone wants and nobody cares to comment? BTW I think the first picture is the last picture. Just hit next once to advance to the start of the story.

I highly approve of the lava smiting. That’ll teach those innocent villagers.

Job well done.

Relief model of the entire planet.

Notch is going to release a 1.6.6 this week, before people spend too much time reinstalling mods. Then he intends to work on the 1.7 update for quite a while, and wants it to be the long-awaited ‘adventure mode’. It’s still not exactly clear what that entails, but if I were to put together a wishlist:

  • Scripting capabilities, or at least an official method of bundling custom code for map-specific behaviours.
  • More loot
  • More monsters
  • More ways of putting custom content in the world (e.g., writable books, player-drawn paintings)
    Edit: more!
  • Official NPC support, even if fairly limited (let the modders take care of the crazy universe-building AI logic)
  • Bundling of texture packs with maps, for scenarios that are supposed to look a certain way

More monsters would be good… especially some larger more specific ones.

For example… Cthulu

He could live in a vast, scary cave complex somewhere under ground in every game world. Just knowing he exists somewhere down there would be cool, but stumbling across his lair in the dark would possibly give me a heart attack.

Minecraft needs a shot in the arm. Just a simple “Blood Moon” would do wonders to satisfy the adventurer types.

I’m still curious about a fully implement “adventurer mode” of course…

I dunno. I play on peaceful all the time. Monsters do not do anything for me. If they got rid of creepers, I might consider turning them back on, but I am tired of having my stuff blown up.

Server is updated and running again

And this means… what?

It’s a Terraria thing.

Edit: Oh yeah, Minecraft! 1.6.6 is out now and lets you use bonemeal on dirt to cause tall grass and flowers to grow. Should fix beds in SMP, too. And glowstone drops more dust when broken and only needs 2x2 to reform it.

Anyone else’s server start crashing awfully around 1.6.4?

1.6.4 and below were VERY buggy. Supposedly most of the kinks have been worked out in 1.6.5 and 1.6.6, but I have not upgraded from 1.5 myself.

What’s weird is that I played for a good hour in .6.3 I think. Went to the Nether, made some portals back and forth, started building up in there … and then with .4, .5 and now .6 the server crashes within minutes of someone connecting. Blergh, I don’t want to revert; the Nether is like a preview of Adventure mode :) Plus, maps are awesome.
