I prefer Paypal. but when I clicked that option in the checkout it converted $$$ to pounds and then a Swedish version of the Paypal pages loaded and wouldn’t accept my login. So I gave up and went back to use a CC.
For those having an “out of memory” issue, have you tried running a 64 bit version of Java? Upgrading to 64 bit Java made all of my “out of memory” crashes disappear. Assuming you have a 64 bit CPU of course. This has worked for me and a couple of my friends I play SMP with.

Yeah that memory issue is on Vista/W7 machines where Java 64-bit doesn’t get installed by default unless you go to download it using the 64-bit IE browser.
Do that and you should have no memory issues.
I’m on XP but I’m still having that problem. I also can’t run MC off the .exe at all.

On XP I put the task manager in the bottom right corner and if it gets over 1gb of RAM usage I quit and restart. Usually only happens on the most complex levels that have a lot of vertical terrain.
It happens every two minutes from startup, without fail. Finally MC gets some content I give a crap about and I can’t play it.

I think the release right now is pretty buggy though (1.8.1).
My sons machine (with the memory issue) is a 32-bit Windows XP machine with 2GB RAM.
Using the Java .JAR file and scaling the distance back to Normal seems to be working to keep his crashes to a minimum though, so thanks for the advice guys.

I forgot to mention that there is a Java bug with OpenGL and nVidia graphics cards. The issue may not be fixable, though playing on Normal view distance decreases the time it takes for the memory to fill up.
Thanks for hte tip on view distance increasers. There’s one for 1.8: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/353895-18extreme-increased-view-distance/page__st__20
It’s not updated for 1.9 yet, sadly.
The biomes in 1.9 are still beautiful, though:

Dunno man, those new grass colours offend my eyes.
On that note, does grass have the same ugly colours when using texture packs?
They look fine in game. Also, that shot was at night, which gives a proper blue hue to everything now. During the day:

The pigs…
They are looking at you…

I can’t not see the little video game dude in those grass textures.

I wish he would update the game to use 32x32 or 64x64 textures as a base and/or put some feature in that allowed a texture pack to work (without patching minecraft) with large textures.
I think he likes the 16x16 look too much to use anything larger as the default, but it would be nice if the base code supported larger resolutions, now that third-party texture packs are officially supported anyway.

Well, the support has been in the code for a while, it just needed a quick hack to get the animated water/lava textures to work. I have no idea why the support hasn’t come officially.
Considering texture packs get broken every update, I don’t think it should be a priority.

Well, of course new textures are needed for added objects. The nice thing though is that nothing actually gets broken, the new stuff is just invisible (unless the structure of the actual main texture files changes, like terrain.png)

Okay chequers, we get it, you have a 2560x1440 monitor and you want to make sure everyone knows it. Bravo, huzzah, golf clap. Are we done now?
