Who placed all that TNT and for what purpose? I think if you just want to play around with TNT you should be doing it in single player.

Bad Neighbor:

The summoning area is massive. As long as we keep expanding the frontier instead, I don’t think it will be a problem.

DoomMunky and gremlinclr: I have built the highway right to your back door. However, I am left with two options:

Build the road along the coast. Pro: leaves your places untouched so that you can connect at your leisure and is easier to locate on the map. Con: It will take have to take a very wide path around.

Build the road through the trees. Pro: much more convenient for travelling and building. Con: It goes straight through your territory.

Let me know which works best and I’ll build accordingly.

Go thru the trees, buddy! It’s way more awesome to have cool stuff all over than to have ‘zones’ or something. But thanks for asking. I love how polite this server is!

Yeah, just FYI they blew up nowhere near that much TNT on the OO server, and it caused a server crash.

The server can handle a 70 or so tall stack of TNT, but they detonate sequentially. I’ve built two big holes. One on one of the plateaus of Skyworld, where I found one of those randomly generated dungeons filled with spiders. It has a glass wall and a ladder down if anyone wants to see it. The other forms a hellgate (like in the movies rather than anything to do with the patch), which can be best seen from the small viewing platform I built next to it.

That huge pile near frontier, if still there, can be contained in obsidian. It doesn’t stop blast radius, but i think it would stop the them flying and destroying everything in the vicinity.

Don’t contain that TNT in obsidian. But if you’re going to blow it up give me advanced notice. Increasing the heap size java has to paly with apparently helps a lot when blowing up this much TNT.

Though it really won’t be that exciting to everyone who doesn’t hit the TNT first. You won’t hear the sounds and the server will just lag while the blocks are updated, but whatever, we can all play in the giant crater afterward.

You blew it up! You blew it up without inviting any of us around to watch!

Do you know how long it took me to place all those damn TNT blocks? How one misclick would destroy all my work (look for two smaller craters on the world map to see my previous attempts)? I even built that awesome observation tower complete with a remote detonation device – a device that I note was unused. I hope you took some screenshots of the appropriately scary signs I placed around the thing.

The world map will update in a few hours, so here’s a wider shot of the ‘before’ for comparison.

Note to self:
Make a nuke mod, where the explosion turns rocks into obsidian, dirt into lava, sand in glass, burn all trees in the whole chunk and create a texas-size hole.

I haven’t been to the server, I’ve just been following the thread and looking at the map but it looks like it didn’t get all that deep did it? I may have to experiment with drilling a series of holes and blasting like they do in open pit mines.
