I really want damage to work in multiplayer. And then I want a mod that makes zombies immune to sunlight and cranks up their spawning to zombie apocalypse levels.

The problem with TNT above ground is that TNT explosions affect other TNT blocks. So the bottom layer blows all the other stuff upwards. The solution is to dig a hole for your TNT so only the top layer is visible, and have the charges arranged in a pyramid. That sort of shaped charge can be pretty impressive if done right.

I had no intention of blowing it up. Honest injun. I was curious how he had set it up and I dug up one of the sand blocks, which set off the chain reaction.

FWIW - I didn’t even get to see it go. It completely hung my machine. I’m not talking hanging mindcraft, I couldn’t do shit on my computer until I killed minecraft.

Checkers - really, honestly did not plan on doing that. I like the signage and the glass encased starter TNT block.

I built that about a week ago, and left it as an experiment to see how long until someone noticed it.

Next I might put a sign somewhere. “First person to find this sign wins a pony!”

I haven’t experimented with TNT. I assumed you’d have to set it off with fire or flint. It would have surprised me too if just digging set it off.

You need to complete the loop for it to work.

Hitting TNT starts it. Chances are he was digging, perhaps with a shovel, and did one whack too many, the sand vanished and he hit the TNT.

Always dig away from the TNT.

Any interest in a second QT3 world? I’ve got the ability to host a Minecraft server. I’m not sure what mods and/or tools are recommended these days though so suggestions would be appreciated.
