Can I get a whitelist for Hydrometer? He’s a homebrewing buddy.

edit: thanks!

Sub-creatures! Gozer the Gozerian, Gozer the Destructor, Volguus Zildrohar, the Traveller has come! Choose and perish!

Oh, now you’re just making me jealous that I still can’t get that texture pack to work.

I had to take out all the .DS_Store files or whatever out of the folders before I copied it into minecraft.jar.

Could you white list Kirian on the server, please? I’ve just bought the game.

It begins…!

BEHOLD!!

lolll

I was going to ask where that was, but found it just on the edge of line-of-sight of where I was already parked. I’m still not sure yet just what kinds of sacrifices it’s demanding…

Anyway, an update should be out tomorrow, most notably for the texture pack support and multiplayer fixes. Looks like damage might still be broken, but I did discover last night that you can set animals on fire by using a flint and steel to set fires on the ground below them. I was able to set some chickens on fire to collect…leather, which explains what the patch notes mean by “sheep and cows look like sheep and cows now”. And we’ll actually be able to collect wool blocks in the frontier now!

I saw that giant face staring at me on the map and I just cracked up. Hysterical.

EDIT: I see in the patch notes that minecarts supposedly work now. Hello Railroad!

YES! The highway’s true vision will soon be realized!

Unfortuantely, without massive iron donations, I will have to take down my alter to Gozer.

Dig into my storage if you’re around there. I’ve got some iron, but most of it needs smelted. There’s coal and furnaces there if I’m not around.

I have a lot of iron I can donate, we should plan what tracks are most important to lay first.

Actually here is what I was thinking…

Here is a basic image of the Frontier - http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/8418/frontier.png
Here is the proposed mine cart / road system. Darker blue would be priority then light blue would be filled in after dark blue. I also put a couple question marks as I’m not sure what is going on in those areas or if they should be connected, etc? - http://img560.imageshack.us/img560/2407/frontierrails.png

If the “physics” work the same as SP, then the top right ? will be connected and a loop will be put into place. Put your cart down and the boosters carry you where you want to go. Due to the delay between client and server, redstone switches will probably be impossible. Some adjustments will need to be made to prevent wildlife from walking on the tracks. I will be on after the update hits to do some testing.

Also, if you don’t want a bumpy ride, I’ll need to redo a lot of stairs.

Hmm, I wanted to try something with negative space:

Turned out to be a bit taller than expected though; I was hoping to make it fully enclosed by a cliff face, but I’ll have to pad it out a bit to make it look natural. And the damn clouds keep slicing through it!

Every time I import a texture pack, I alter the cloud.png with a big fat eraser.

Do mine carts even work in SMP now? How about buckets, are they fixed?

They’re both supposed to be fixed (or at least improved) in today’s patch, which doesn’t seem to be out yet. It still remains to be seen whether stuff like boosting works the same way in the SMP environment, though.

I(Lamalo) would love an invite and I also vow to never carry a lava bucket in my tool belt.

I had a couple of bad experiences in SP with lava and wooden houses.
