Clancy’s novels sound really stupid.
I have to admit, I enjoyed some of Clancy’s stuff (Red Storm Rising, Hunt For Red October, Cardinal in the Kremlin, Bear and the Dragon, and Clear and Present Danger). I thought the rest were pretty crappy and uber-super-one more uber for hyperbole’s sake-bloated. He’s a bad writer, but a few of his stories gave me some entertainment.
