Yankees outscored the Tigers 28-17. If you’re a Yankees fan (ugh), that’s what’s frustrating.
Direct TV subscription? $65.
Toshiba Plasma Screen TV? $1500.
A-Rod striking out with the bases loaded and then striking out to end the series? Priceless!

That stat is misleading. The Yankees scored 19 runs in 2 games and averaged 3 runs/game in the other three. This has been a running problem for the Yankees for over a decade – they rely too much on the home run during the season and then get inconsistent hitting in the playoffs.
And despite all the Yankee haters, I’ll never apologize for being a fan – I’ve been a fan since the 70s and lived through the 80s, where they were often the Keystone Kops of baseball. I’ve paid my dues. :)
As a Royals fan watching this ARI-MIL series, I need the baseball gods to explain to me how a couple of 90+ win teams can get away with having Yuniesky Betancourt and Willie Bloomquist in the everyday starting lineups of a playoff series.
I wonder what I’ll see next year - Jason Kendall and Chris Getz hacking away in October?

That catch was so good I actually yelled out loud at my TV.
You realize, I hope, that other fans have paid much, much more in dues than Yankees fans have ever had to pay.
Milwaukee’s bullpen is devastatingly good. This game may be over.
Rodriguez is the weakest link in that bullpen. Glad Roenicke is still married to using him in the 8th.
Failing to get a runner home from third with 1 out in the 8th inning, trailing by a run in a winner-take-all playoff game?
That’s gonna haunt the D-Backs all winter.
John Axford should mow them down in the 9th.
Wow…Parra tryin’ to make a liar of me!
Do you bunt here to get the runner to third with 1 out?

Man, they’re not going to bunt him over? Seriously?
Burroughs job here is to try to pull any pitch he sees–at minimum it advances the runner to third.
Lots of managers hate the bunt in this situation. Burroughs handles a bat decently. Guess they let him try to at least put a grounder to the right side.

You’re going against a devastating reliever, you can’t risk not moving the runner ov…
…hey, there’s a hit! Great call by the DBacks!
Now it gets really interesting.
Axford I don’t believe has blown a save since the first week or two of the season.

So, do you squeeze at any point in this inning now?
Answer: Yes!!
Milwaukee’s defense–suspect all season–bites 'em in the ass.
2-2!
Love the aggressiveness from Gibson on that. Looked like a safety squeeze, but still…helluva bunt by Bloomquist.

I might actually bunt again here to move the runners to 2nd and 3rd with 1 out.
Edit: So much for that.
