Talk about not giving a guy a chance.

He sure didn’t last long ;)

Wow, so Cueto has to leave in the first inning with an injury. Talk about an awful way to start the playofs.

I want to be surprised but I’m not. A’s ownership desperately wants to move the team to Oakland and will do anything to try and help that cause. I like the team, love the fans but ownership has been giving them the middle finger for the past decade.

Wait, isn’t the team already in Oakland?

Did he get kicked in the head?

Err yea meant move to San Jose. I swore it was San Jose when I typed it. The article basically says the same thing as I did. Sucks for A’s fan that want to go to the game and can’t.

I laughed, well played. I hate teams moving in any league, for almost any reason, which is why I still like striking up a rousing version of the Houston Oiler fight song when I am forced to go see a Titans game in Nashville.

Back spasms, apparently. Now they’re talking about Cueto starting game 3 in Cincy. After a 5-hour plane ride. Yeah, that’ll do wonders for your back, even if it’s on a private jet.

I should also add, if my memory is correct the A’s current owner is a real estate mogul from San Jose which is why he desperately wants to move the team there and has never made even a half-hearted attempt to try and stay in Oakland.

How confident are they about selling out the larger area, though? That may be why they are reluctant to pull the tarps up. Yeah, there is clearly more demand then the 37 whatever they can get with the tarps on, but if they pull them and don’t sell out the rest then how does that look? And plenty of teams in baseball have smaller stadiums now anyway and everybody lives with that.

You can talk all you want about fans wanting to go, but remember, they didn’t even sell out the last homestand when it was all on the line. The A’s ownership might be jerks but they have reason to doubt the level of support they would get.

The home game is already sold out, and they can easily gauge demand for the extra 20k seats if they had wanted to. But they aren’t, because they’re giant dicks.

Benoit scares the hell out of me every time he takes the mound. Valverde does too, for that matter.

And today makes it crystal-clear why Benoit scares me :(

Well, the last few innings have had some pretty wild momentum swings. Here come the Tigers!

The whole damn bullpen is frightening this year. Except maybe the amazing Al Albuquerque, but he’s fragile. And we’re stuck with Benoit for at least one more year.

And oh boy, now it’s all in the hands of that iffy pen. How about three runs on errors/wild pitches for the Tigers? If the boys pick up the win here, they can thank the As for the help.

Tigers Win!

Don Kelly, man of destiny! Tigers pull it out in the bottom of the ninth, and it’s out to Oakland with a 2-0 series lead. Oh, and the Amazing Al with the win!

Bah humbug! Stupid Tigers.

Ah well…wouldn’t be the first time they needed to sweep 3 at home :-)

Man, the Nats are pulling some Houdini-like stuff to keep this to a 2-1 game. First, the catch by Werth, now getting out of a bases-loaed 0-out jam – good stuff.

Meanwhile, Yankees/O’s are in a rain delay. :(
