As the Cards chip away at this lead (6-2 now), this is starting to feel a lot like the game yesterday where the Giants had to hold on at the end against the Reds.
And now Gio walks in a run and it’s 6-3, and it’s starting to resemble a ballgame.
The approach by some Cardinals to situational hitting with bases loaded is just…unprofessional. They look like a bunch of dudes trying to get on Sportscenter. Matt Holliday and Yadier Molina have shown all the plate discipline in this series of a 6-year-old t-ball player.

6-5!
At this point, if I’m a Nats fan, the guy I’m most terrified of is Beltran. He seems totally dialed in right now.
Woo hoo! Yanks win and move on! We want Detroit!!!

Man, how big was that insurance run for the Nats? Otherwise, Beltran is on second with the tying run and no out.

I feel like the Cards are just toying with us. “hey, let’s make it 6-0 early, so it’ll be a good comeback. And make sure we get down to the last strike and then work a walk to bring Freese to the plate as the go-ahead run.”
This fucking post-season…Jesus Christ. It’s almost like they’re manufacturing drama.
EDIT: TIE!
No kidding. This is incredible. What the hell are they feeding those Cardinals? I want some for the Tigers.

This is … just ridiculous.

This is insane. The Cards, down to their last strike on two consecutive batters, both work walks and then take a 9-7 lead. You can’t kill this team.
Gahhhhh. I kinda wanted to play the Nats. I fear/dislike the Cards.
That describes every Cubs fan in existence, which includes me, so I’m going to be a Giants fan for the next week or so. From 6-0 down to a win, on the road…there’s something crazy about those Cardinals.

I can’t even imagine what the Nats crowd must be feeling right now. Talk about having the rug pulled from under you. That’s an incredible win for the Cards.
My cup runneth over. I have no words.

The what game you the happened am wha?
I think the Giants are a better team, but there’s something hinky about the Cards. They do seem to get the breaks. Or they make them…I’m not sure.

Yeah. Fortunately, though, there aren’t really any decades-long Nats fans, so the forums I’m reading the fans seem to be taking it rather well.
Also, all the Nats fans immediately became Giants fans :-)
Never take a 7-5 lead to the ninth inning in the postseason in an elimination game against the Cardinals. That can only end in tears–for your team.

Unbuckingfelieviable!
Man, I love them Redbirds :) That went from sporting event to some kind of life lesson.
