Royals in 6 - Murphy hits at most one more HR in the playoffs. Cain has a big Series. Young gets shelled but Cueto is himself again.
Well, someone has to win. Royals, I guess.
Murphy hits 7 HRs, one in each game. Signs $237M 8-yr contract with the Dodgers. Hits 12 HR/year for the next 3 years, Dodgers forget where they put him during the Winter of 2019, sign someone else for even more money. He eventually turns up under Guggenheim’s couch cushions.
deGrom & Syndergaard switch uniforms between innings. No one notices.
Cueto adds a Marichal kick to his quick-pitch windup, throws a few pitches left-handed.
Game 7, bottom 9th, 1 on, 1 out, Mets 2 - Royals 1: Jirschele holds Hosmer at 3rd on Moustakas’ HR, because “Hosmer is really slow”. Both runners out at 3rd.
Mets in 7

I feel like being contrary. Mets in 5.
I dunno, these Royals just have that unstoppable feeling to them. As hacky as the expression is, I dunno that I’ve seen a pro sports team in my lifetime that “finds a way to win” like this team does.
The Mets absolutely earned their pennant, but I’ve got the Royals in 6.

Good pitching will win out. Mets in 6.
So uh, there’s a lot of reports coming in that Edinson Volquez’s father passed away right before game time. There appears to be some confusion though, as to whether or not Edinson knows about it.
Team error on the Mets out in left-center to lead off the game, miscommunication scored as an inside the park home run. Wish they’d figure out a better way to score those things.

The pitching in this series seems to be really neutralizing the power in game 1.
Argh. Totally missed the Grandy HR, due to Fox’s shittiness. THANKS OBAMA
This is such a tense game.
Really? On my local broadcast, they had swapped to the MLB Network feed by the time he hit that. I wonder if they’re doing something different in each region or something.
Of course, I’ve got the ESPN radio on and the sound muted, since damn near anyone > Harold Reynolds, so I heard it before the video caught up anyway.

Here in L.A. they switched to 3 guys in the studio when the power went out…way to be on your game, Fox!
Well, I’m on the stream. No idea what they did on the broadcast. They did switch over to the MLBN international feed, or whatever. But by that time I’d missed the HR.

Royals terrible 8th inning mismanagement rectified by the Gordon blast!

Matt Harvey, 6 IP, 2Ks. Chris Young, 1 IP, 3Ks.
I will have to go to sleep eventually. Come on Royals. It’s killing me how close they’ve come so many times. That inning where the Mets loaded the bases, I thought that was going to be it.

Wow, what a start to the series…I hope the sequel tomorrow is equally good!
This is some amazingly bad camera work by Fox on the Young interview.
