Yeah, but a man could’ve hoped.

Clearly one-shot kills with a combat knife on a zombie would have been just a tad too much.

Ah but you see thats the thing. You can’t one shot a zombie with a combat knife. So there’s no way Infinity Ward will put them in because that’s just not realistic.

This Andrew Yoon fella has what it takes.

Can I ask, how the hell do you people get nukes without cheating? I find the competition is just too good. My highest killstreak ever is 25, and that was by just going prone in Scrapyard with a sniper rifle and staring down a tunnel. The idiots kept charging straight at me.

I mean, is the recipe something like Harrier -> Chopper Gunner and praying that the enemy team is dumb enough to stay outdoors and not equip a stinger? The only time I’ve ever seen a nuke was in free for all when a group of guys were obviously nuke boosting.

Basically you’ve gotta have really great kill streaks. Usually a Harrier or Stealth, then a gunner of either helicopter or AC130, and then hope to god it’s an open map and your team can keep you alive.

I’m … undecided on the multiplayer, compared at least to Bad Company and BC2. It’s just this close to being Not For Me, but i’ll stay with it a while longer.

In Bad Company 2 there are clear front lines. In MW2, when i die (usually within 30 seconds of spawning) i respawn at a new location i’ve never even seen. 15 seconds later i’m flanked from a direction i’ve never even looked at, and i respawn again at a new location. Suddenly a bomb from the sky drops on my head… and i respawn at a new location. My WTF meter is approaching the redline.

It’s not that there isn’t a pattern but whether i want to invest the time necessary to “learn the maps” enough to bother playing competitively, as well as figuring out all these crazy class bonuses. I feel like i skipped reading the textbook and am completely lost. It’s pretty crazy watching the kill cameras how those guys are tossing grenades right at my feet without even being visible to them…just too many over-experienced DM style players to really compete. In BC2 which is more team oriented, i can find a good “killing spot” and do good work with what seems to me more realistic fire and advance tactics. Of course this might be because most modes are still locked until i reach the prerequisite levels… bleh.

What he said. Most of my trouble comes from getting the first seven, to be honest.

Are you communicating with your team? Or, at least, keeping an eye on them via the mini-map? That way, if you keep a sense of where they are in relation to you, and which way they’re facing, you can relax a wee bit on one flank and concentrate on what’s in front of you. If you keep tabs on the mini map you’ll be able to get a sense of where your team are and where the enemies are.

On the respawning disorientation: learn the maps or try some dramamine :p

Harrier -> Chopper gunner -> nuke is my preferred killstreaks. If i can get to the harrier and find a nice secluded spot to lay down in i can get 15-20 kills pretty quick. The key is to find a place while your planes are up so you don’t get killed while using the chopper gunner. This changes obviously if the other team is smart enough to have some anti-air classes but surprisingly often they don’t. Also, some maps are way better than other based on your playing style. Domination on Wastland normally nets me 30+ kills with my asshole build (ACR/grenade launcher and One Man Army). My best killstreak is 34, would probably have been nearer to 40 had i not set off the nuke straight away.

any kills you get with killstreak rewards shouldn’t contribute towards your next kill streak…

I do believe you are mistaken sir

Only “crate” kills don’t add to the streak, afaik.

I also have the asshole build, grenade launcher + 1 man army + danger close + sit rep. Wasteland is fantastic for that. If a team gets stubborn and wants to hold the bunker, you can just pepper them with grenades.

I’ve found a couple places in some maps I can hunker down solo with claymores and get a little streak going. My problem is my air support is either completely ineffective (lots of roofs to protect the enemy) or is immediately shot down.

While I have you all going, what’s the limit on chopper gunners/ AC130s? Is it time based, ammo based, kill based, or all 3?

Correct on the crates. I’m not sure about your second question, but i believe they are timebased.

It’s time based. They hang around for like, what, 30-45 seconds? It’s not long, but they are utterly destructive.

You guys inspired me. I just got another nuke this afternoon on, let’s see, Favela. Hid in the building near A with my sneaky build (Silenced Tar-21 with scavenger, cold-blooded, commando) and picked off at least 4 of the guys battling over B. Got the rest from stragglers trying to sneak around to A. After that, Harrier. Then, Ac-130. I could tell there was one guy who kept trying to use his javelin, but once I had killed a decent amount of guys they all started spawing in a corner and I just kept blasting that same area. Pretty shitty to be one of them, but fuck them!

One more nuke, and I complete one of the challenges. I’m excited!

So you do this on domination?

oh, yeah, totally. No way I’m going to do it on team deathmatch. too fast, and too focused on attack. With domination I can sit and be sneaky and camp.

The first map pack is coming to XBL at the end of this month:

You suck for being one of those jerkwads who ruins Domination by using it to boost accolades and K/D ratio!

I hate being on a team with people who go like 24 and 1 but the team still loses because the other players don’t give a crap about the real objectives.
