Agreed. If all you want to do is run up your k/d, play team deathmatch. It’s not like you can’t amass huge numbers there; last time I played, I finished up with a 25-2 round on Rundown, and my overall k/d is less than 1:1.

heh, heh. Sorry. I can do fine on team deathmatch, but it’s hard to get to 25 kills fast enough. as soon as I get my tenth nuke I’ll play for real, I promise.

Getting a nuke (unless you are very good, and I can’t speak to your skill level) is entirely, absolutely, omg wtf bbq, completely, irrevocably, take it under the bleachers and have sex with it, one billionty millionty percent, dependent on whether the other team is smart enough to shoot down your harrier and your chopper. It’s a bit easier in domination, and especially in ground war, to the get the requisite number of kills, but its not terribly difficult in TDM if you are aggressive early.

Anyways, the point is that if you are playing well enough to get 25 killstreaks, being a campy whore or otherwise, good for you. You are helping your team, even if the people that cry about you not capping a flag don’t realize it. I always wonder why those people don’t realize that the TWENTY FIVE enemies you killed along the way were trying to cap other flags or kill them, or that if you successfully get the nuke you are guaranteed a win, if they like it or not.

Look, we all get annoyed by campy douchers in domination. I’m that guy sometimes (well, I never, ever camp, but I sure do play defensively and patrol an area in DOM). The bottom line is that is is easy to take out a camper. The game is designed so that you have 58million ways to do it. So when that camper calls in his Harrier at 6 or 7 kills, and as soon as you see your teammates not shooting it down, you chuck a grenade at your feet, switch to a stinger, and take it out. Doing that instead of complaining works wonders.

This obviously isn’t directed at you molecule, I’m mostly just stream of thought here. I am one of those that like the nuke, though I only equip it rarely if I am specifically trying to get one. I never got 10 on prestige, though I have more than that total-I switched back to the nuke the other day and picked up a couple and would like to get the 10 to get the emblem legit-it’s fun, I understand why you are after it. It’s a really good carrot. I frequently, even when I am not going for the nuke, will work a 7-9-11 killstreak. Its hard as shit to do consistently, but learning to target 7 as your very first streak really teaches you other ways to do it aside from camping. A great strategy is a cold blooded silenced UMP rush to the enemy spawn in DOM, you can get 3-4 kills in 30 seconds.

Anyways, ramble ramble. The new maps are out in 3 weeks, so I am likely going to take a couple weeks off, recharge, then work on my nuke emblem and get ready for the new shit. I might even prestige again, though I doubt it since I have nearly everything unlocked finally.

There are rumors that there are 6 maps, including crash, strike, and shipment (please god what an awful idea for the latter) from COD4. Some people are reporting 3 new weapons and 3 new perks, but that would be a first for a COD game and I seriously, seriously doubt it with the potential balance issues-although, if one of the perks was a counter to commando or a replacement for that broken ass piece of shit I might cry a little.

I’ve never actually gotten a nuke. Well, I got one once, but I was in my chopper and the host quit and the whole game went down before I could use it. This was in Favela on team deathmatch, and yes I was camping.

Camping is the only way I can come even close to a nuke. Let the jokes about no skills fly, please, but I’m thirty fucking years old I can’t react as fast as a 14 year old when we both round a corner and are facing each other. I sit in a bush and pick my targets very carefully, strike fast and then move, like Predator.

Wallapuctus just admit he is a 30 years old predator hunting 14 year old…

What is this about? What are they pointing at?

I think they’re pointing at Infinity Ward. With their middle fingers.

OK … but why?

Trivializing a very real and dangerous world?

Dedicated servers, man. Or rather, the lack thereof. Think about it, do you think these fine gentlemen can get good performance out of IWnet from their domicile?

Yesterday my friend got a Nuke on regular team death match(not ground war/domination) on Rust. I couldn’t believe it, I still can’t. And it’s not like I was protecting him while he was on the Chopper, he just laid down behind the tanker. The normally silent lobby had a few nice words for him afterwards.

Goddamn knifers with Commando Pro.

Plus they probably hated the god awful story compared to the awesomeness which was the original MW.

I played through the singleplayer mode of Modern Warfare a few times, and always thought it was a great ride. In MW2 I got to the U.S.A. level and then quit. The cracks were really showing for me: the spawning enemies, the invisible triggers; it just felt so artificial and gamey. I know those things were present in the first title but IW did a better job of hiding them there.

The multiplayer is still awesome though. I’d get value for money even if there was no singleplayer.

Odd, I felt the exact opposite. The second game hid the spawning and triggers much better than the first game.

Yeah that’s great reasoning IF the guy boosting DOES get the nuke. 99 times out of 100 he doesn’t and the team with the most boosters tends to lose the match because all of the guys going for the nuke and failing didn’t contribute shit to the points that matter for the game mode… “Yeah, you went 24-1. Awesome, except we just lost the match because they held all three control points through half the game!”

I have absolutely NO problem with campers, snipers, etc, the game gives you all the tools you need to deal with all different types of play styles, particularly on non-hardcore modes where you get to see exactly where they are after one death. This isn’t about that, at all.

Yeah, its probably my own baggage. I’ve been having these issues more and more. I was romping along in Dragon Age, loving the character interactions and story, having a grand time, and then I got to a section where I needed to transform into a mouse or a rat or something to overcome a bunch of environmental puzzles and I just switched it off. Up to that point I felt like things had been going very well, and then, while moving through a tower, clearing out rooms, five by five, I suddenly got thrown into this stupid puzzle. It felt artificial and gamey and just there to pad out the bloody tower. I set DA aside and haven’t returned to it.

So, there’s definitely some limit that’s been reached in my head, some rubicon that, right now, games can’t cross if they want me to keep playing them :O

I’ve seen people nuke Rust multiple times. In fact, I think I’ve seen Rust get nuked more often than any other map in TDM.

While it is a good achivement to not die on such a cramped map, the flip side of that is that your killstreak rewards can rack up massive kill counts in a hurry (especially if you are running danger close). Rust is the only map where I’ve had a predator missile that killed the entire other team in one hit (and once you have a predator that does that sort of damage the rest of the killstreak chain up to nuke tends to go pretty quickly if you have your killstreaks set up for it and the other team isn’t all cold blooded).
