CCZ, if a player is going 24-1 doing anything other than sitting in a corner cold-blooded and silenced away from the action and getting phenomenally lucky, they are helping the team even if they don’t cap a single point. I think that is the disconnect we have. That is 24 enemies that could be attacking or defending cap points. If one player runs kill support that well and team still loses, it isn’t his fault, it’s the entire teams fault. Every good DOM (or DEM or CTF) party needs a dedicated fragwhore/killstreak guy, or you are going to get dominated and die 57 bajillion times trying to hold the objective by brute force. That’s the point I’m trying to make, not that some KD boosters aren’t assholes that sit on the outskirts of the map going 10-1 and doing nothing and thinking they are all that-cause there are players like that, and yes, they deserve your danger close noob tube.

I got my tenth nuke, thank god. Now I can play for real again. Also, the round after I finished? Played against Satan. No lie.

I bet he camps a lot.

Sadness is…Getting a 34 kill streak, firing off a nuke and then getting killed by a missile while the nuke is counting down. Especially since my previous kill streak records was also 34. I would have ended up at a 41 killstreak but no dice.

Damn it, this upcoming map pack was going to be a no-brainer. Instead, Activision has found a way to make 3 brand new maps and 2 older maps from CoD4 a bit of a hard decision by pricing it at $15.

They know how tough it will be to stay away from it though. We’re all so sick of the older maps. It would be so nice to explore some new places in multiplayer.

$15?

Yeah…

Still gonna buy it but man, that’s steep. Especially with only 3 new maps (the two from COD 4 are my favorites so no complaints there)

Yeah I dunno… don’t think I’ll bother with the map pack until it gets a little cheaper.

Good luck getting into a game then!

They have us by the balls and they know it.

I’m sure that’s what they want you to feel, but there’s other fish in the sea.

If the multiplayer becomes too onerous because I haven’t ponied up yet another $15, they can kiss my butt goodbye.

Yeah it can already be a pain to get matched into a team game when you’re in a party of 4 or more today. After the map pack hits I figure it’ll be pretty much an unbearable wait for those who aren’t running the map pack.

Such as? Battlefield?

So my choice is $15 for new maps or $60 for a new game that I might not even like… with no one on my friends list playing it?

All my friends play MW2. I have 4-8 guys every single night playing with me, and it’s fantastic fun.

They have us all in a vice grip, and they’re tightening the screw.

Yeah, I’m in the same boat as Wallapuctus. Except we play only one day a week. But still, everyone in the group already owns the game and has fun playing it. Going to a different game like Battlefield doesn’t seem like a viable option, given that none of us have liked previous Battlefield games.

Terribly overpriced, but will definitely buy. Super excited for new maps-much of my frustration with the game right now is boredom with the maps and the constant camping zones everywhere.

I just stopped playing, and with a $15 ticket back in, they can go fuck themselves. $10 It would’ve been a no-brainer, but $15 is a 30 rack of keystone. Sorry Infinity Ward, but drinking wins this battle.

I bought the CoD4 map pack, but this is an easy pass.

Anyone else get the feeling that Call of Duty has peaked?

If it has peaked, I’d say it was 2 years ago with the release of the first Modern Warfare.

There’s that Medal of Honor reboot in November, which may or may not be any good, but until then I think MW2 is where it’s at.

Honestly, this the cost of one month of WoW, which no one balks at for a moment. I get way more enjoyment from CoD that WoW ever provided. $15 is steep but I think I’ve taken way more than $60 of value from MW2 so far. (see how I just justified this absurd price to myself?)

Now, if you wanna talk price gouging, point me toward the Dragon Age expansion pack thread. $40 dollars?! That expansion can’t possibly have more than 10 hours of content, can it?

I gotta respect your priorities.
