Anyone who buys this and complaints about the next amazing XBLA/PSN/Indie game at $10-15 deserves a punch in the mouth.
$15 for 3 maps? Fuck you, god damn!

What absolute bullshit. $15? How about some free new playlists instead? I’ve been begging since CoD4 for Team Tactical Hardcore and all they did was remove Team Tactical altogether. Haven’t they bragged since CoD4 about being able to update playlists easily? Why don’t they ever do that?
And please take out the nuke. It’s just annoying.
Haven’t played since the semester started but I don’t really want to until they actually improve the multiplayer. Until then I’ll play the excellent Spec Ops mode.
Well, in protest to this bullshit, I just bit on Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Hopefully it’s nothing like Battlefield and Battlefield 2.
Not fucking buying it at that price.
Any idea how Activision plans to sell the map pack for the PC version? In the past, the maps were sponsored by a video card company.
This is almost like a repeat of the Guitar Heroes series. I guess this just the way Activision works.
And this is why it won’t disappear. You guys buy into a $60 game and complain about various aspects (mostly the bugs and cheating, and lack of dedicated servers) yet still support the publishers/developers by buying an even more ludicrously priced map pack. And it’s fourty percent rehashed content from the previous game!

The entire game is controlled by Steamworks, which means it’ll support Steam DLC. No way in hell the PC version is getting it for free this time around.
Ah well. I’m not paying $15 for the map pack (I only paid $10 for MW2).
I’m still waiting for my copies of BF:BC2 and ME2.

I had Call of Duty 4 on PC and know that Chinatown and Broadcast were average at best, while Creek and Killhouse were pretty much worthless pieces of crap. If I had paid $10 for that package on 360, I would have felt entirely ripped off and insulted.
I have no confidence at all that the Modern Warfare 2 map pack will be any higher quality than any of those four CoD4 maps, and the notion of paying $5 of each of them is a hard punch in the fact to every dedicated customer.
Sadly, the mainstream has no concept of quality or value, and will gobble this up by the millions.
I meant even in terms of sales. MW2 is the biggest seller and I have doubts that any future Call of Duty game will beat it in sales now.
Is there a part of the thread where we discussed this? Did I miss it or something?
We discussed it at length here.
And we are still debating rather to get the map pack or not?
Come on, don’t you have a soul?
I’m buying. Despite the idiotic flaws, this game is still gives quite a superb adrenaline rush for a videogame.
I found that the Spec Ops provide the adrenaline in droves, whereas the mutiplayer just frustrated me more then anything else.
Now if they brought out a “Foxtrot” map pack for Spec Ops I would be all over that in seconds.
Hopefully you won’t brand me a heretic, but can anyone point me to a MW2 multiplayer leveling guide? I’m looking for something like those WoW leveling guides, the ones that say “go to Badlands, do these three quests, in this order, etc.” Is there something similar for MW2 that says, “At level 10, equip this gun, equip these perks, do these maps and game modes, until level 12.” I have no interest in experimenting. I just like leveling up and unlocking things. Stop mocking me.
Almost every weapon and perk is a personal preference thing so no guide would help
I don’t think power leveling is really too effective in this game. I’m sure there’s an optimal way to level up, but I doubt it’s that much quicker than just playing the game.
MW2 leveling isn’t like leveling most games. A level 70 player isn’t really any more powerful than a level 30 player. Some of the guns you get right from the start are among the best weapons in the game. You’ll have more perk options to mess around with as you level, but you have no interest in experimenting anyway. You’ll probably get most of the really good perks within your first 10-20 hours of playing.
So, just play the game and enjoy it…the levels will come.

Find one gun you like and stick with it. I used the SCAR-H exclusively until i unlocked the ACR. If you learn to use the grenade launcher you can rack up points pretty quickly, especially with the Scavenger or One Man Army perks that allows you to resupply. Also, play a game mode that gives you a lot of points. Typically Domination/Ground war is good for points galore.
And Delirium is right, a level 1 can dominate a level 70 if he is a better player.
