Same. So far in Iceborne I’ve just brought gear that negated the monsters’ status effects rather than consumables because I’m getting afflicted too much to keep up otherwise.

How in the world do you join/start a Kulve Taroth siege? I saw the admiral with a blue exclamation point over his head, got a cutscene and a tutorial telling me I could join from the Gathering Hub, which I am in, but…nothing? There is no option to join or post one anywhere as far as I can see, and all information I’ve found by googling has been entirely unhelpful.

Is that they one that shows up after every couple missions? I think that’s the one.

Yeah it’s different because this is one of the rare cases where you really need to use the gathering hub. Head to the gathering hub and talk to the quest lady (the one who lets you post a quest or search for other quests).

You’ll see the option for Kulve Tarroth Siege. Since that’s exactly what you’re looking for, it should make sense that you don’t want to click that. Instead, click on Search for an Online Session. You’ll need to join other people first.

In the search menu, click Filter Search, then click on Quest Preference. Scroll until you find Kulve Tarroth. If you’re lucky you’ll get a list of online sessions created for the siege. Try to find one that’s mostly full and join that. You’ll zone back into the gathering hub but this time you should see other players around.

Now you can talk to the quest lady and try to join the Siege for real. Look for a group with an opening and join them. It may take several attempts before you complete the siege, at which point you can report to quest lady again and she’ll give you rewards.

Keep in mind that Kulve Tarroth mostly exists for people to farm up gold weapons that used to be really good but have since been replaced with much better weapons from the expansion. I’m not sure if KT is as popular as it used to be. If you can’t find a group you may have to wait until a busier time or start your own online session and hope people join it.

You’re thinking of Zorah Magdaros or what’s it called, the final boss of the base game with the big feet. KT siege is different and is only available during events or whenever Capcom decides to turn it on. There’s probably a schedule to it but I’m not really sure.

End of the story is actually just the start of the “real” game. (how annoying is it when someone says that?). But for real, hit up the Guiding Lands. Each zone can be leveled up, and after it’s maxxed out, you unlock that zone’s “boss” monster.

Some other secrets are tied to MR level. MR 100 is where the “real” real game begins.

The new event weapons (Guild Palace) you can craft with Fest Tickets (obtained from completing the “50 Shades of White” event quest) are all very good.

Once you upgrade them to their final “royal” form, they rival some of the best endgame weapons. And they all look pretty great.

Too bad the final “royal” form needs arena coins. I don’t really like the arena quests at all.

Oh they can be fun!

They really take you out of your element and pair you up with really whacky gear combos. They’re a real blast if you can take a buddy along with you.

I don’t have Iceborne.

This is what the tutorial said to do, so I did that.

I did not and do not see this option. I did as you suggested and clicked search for an online session, but in the Filter Search list there is no Kulve Taroth.

ah shit, sorry man…I forgot.

It’s a limited time event, so it may not be up. You can check on Capcom’s event page.

Ok, checking around I guess it’s not available right now? Seems pretty dumb to have the golden tracks show up, give me a cutscene and a tutorial explaining how to do it and then…not have it available? Especially with the Appreciation Fest going on where it clearly said “all past events are available during the fest”.

Yeah, that does sound stupid. I’m not a huge fan of things like the KT siege or Arch Tempered monsters being limited time events. I understand why you’d want events that are tied to the big festivals limited, but big additions to the game should always be available, imo.

Are you on pc or console? I was logged in this morning and the siege was available on pc but they may have different schedules.

The unlocking quest is always open. Why make someone wait until the event turns on and then have to do the unlocking then? I prefer it to always be around so you can complete it in advance and do the siege right away when it comes back.

I’m playing on console, and I’m a filthy weapon switcher. Started with sword and shield. Finished the base game with long sword. Now starting Iceborne, and considering switching to something else - maybe the switch axe or the hammer.

I know what you mean about feeling like you’re behind everyone.

I watched a podcast that did have a hilarious (true line) - if you fail a quest, just try again and throw up an SOS, and three Asians will show up and kill it in two minutes for you.

Console. I guess it’s fine that the cutscene and everything happens, but the timing with the event that says “all past quests are available” is pretty bad, and also it would be nice if it said that it’s not available right now but would be. But given how poorly Capcom communicates basically everything else in this game I really shouldn’t be surprised. It’s a testament to how satisfying the core gameplay is that so many people bother playing when so much of the peripheral stuff is so badly implemented and communicated.

Did this the other day to fill out our party of three for Kushala Daora and a level 999 dude joined up and that was that. Never saw one that high before.

Yesterday I played around with the Insect Glaive. Pretty fun weapon. Went on a 50 Shades of White event quest to hunt a Barioth with a party of 4 (SOS Flare), one guy drops, the other drops a little later, then my Internet connection fails and I go offline, but since I was there, I decided to go with it because, you know, in for a penny, in for a pound. And it went pretty well.

BTW, it seems a Kinsect-only build is not only possible but actually viable now? I’ll just have to try that. Fun. ;)

I’ve been having connection issues too. Can’t get through a play session without getting booted from an online session or having people drop from a hunt.

In my case, it’s the exception rather than the rule, thankfully. But it does happen sometimes.
