My iPad won’t charge while plugged in and in use

Is there an actual error message, or is it just not charging when you use it?

I meant a hard reboot making certain that you close the iOS and then restart after a bit, not a complete reset.

Yeah, I was just differentiating from turning it off and on again, from a soft reset (holding both buttons down). People don’t know the difference with iOS devices.

The Lightning port is notorious for it stopping working because of lint in there. I’ve had it happen on multiple phones. On an iPad, I’m not sure you’d have a similar issue. It’s not like you’re jamming pocket lint in there.

Still, you should definitely clean it out. You can actually just use a bent end of a paperclip. Just don’t scratch around in there too much.

I always cleaned my lightning port with a toothbrush.

This is how I clean my lighting port out, those old skillz come in handy! :)

He got a real purty mouth, ain’t he?

I would avoid using a conductive metal to clean it. I use a toothpick.

That works too. I can vouch for the paperclip method though. The phone was dead when I used it.
