1/2 way through the pilot. I like.
All the way through. Still like it. Much better than Threshold! And the maid was hawt.

Yes, the maid was hot.
Of course, it doesn’t take muscles to buy Mad Dog.
Hey, isn’t the crab man the also the guy from the Officemax commercials?
Yes, he is the Rubberband man. This is a great show…really fantastic. My wife has been showing me her good boob ever since.
That was one ugly ho. She probably turned the little feller gay…
My wife’s friend just called. He’s “a gay”.
Jason Lee does a sublime job as ever, but I wonder if the premise is sturdy enough to support a full series? As fresh as it is, the “guy helps guest desipite comic pratfalls” might wear thin after a while

I hate to seem saccharine, but I kind of like it too. Maybe it’s just because I wanted to see a feel-good show where someone’s actually trying to be a better person, but I dug it. Don’t think I’d watch it regularly, but I liked it for what it was.
Homosexual American…
Just watched it - fun, but I agree that it’s going to be challenging to keep this fresh interesting for a whole season, much less multiple seasons.
If the help-out-the-guest-of-the-week schtick starts to get old, they can always start doing other stuff. Say, have Earl open an oil change place or something. (hopefully something better than that, obviously)
Tonight, our boy tries to stop smoking. Should be good.
I saw an ad for this while waiting for Corpse Bride to start this past weekend. It looked pretty promising. I loved the way he’s trying to improve his karma but really doesn’t get the whole “goodwill towards men” thing in his heart.
Yeah, his ignorance is useful. I hope they keep up the fact that he is (or was and still is, a little bit) a jerk. It’s a nice twist. You don’t have to be nice to be likable.
Jason Lee has pretty much made a career out of that :)
I have always sort of wondered how Jason Lee “made it”. He seems to fall a bit short of good in all the things I have seen him in. However, this seems perfect for him and I have a new appreciation for him. Jaimie Pressley is Good. Crabman is good. The brother is good. The writing is relatively smart. Finally, back-to-back with The Office makes this a Season Pass no-brainer for me.
His first major role, in Mallrats, fit him perfectly. He probably got parts just by sending casting directors the dating game scene.
I guess he doesn’t have much range, though. I haven’t actually seen any of his non-Kevin Smith movies-- not even The Incredibles-- so I can’t say for sure. He wasn’t particularly suited for his role in Dogma. I’m not sure anyone in that movie was suited for their role though, except for Carlin and Rock.
Good point. Dogma was poorly cast, IMO. However, I liked Lee in Chasing Amy. I thought he did a great job on that role. I like Earl a lot still. The episode last night wasn’t as good as the first one, IMO, but it was still pretty funny at times. I plan to watch it regularly.
Matt - See The Incredibles. Today. Its a great movie for one, and Jason does an amazing job with an huge range - from groveling to gloating to anger to despair.
