NBA Playoffs 2016-2017
Knicks president Phil Jackson, who confirmed this week that the team could be looking to move up in the NBA draft Thursday, dozed off during one top prospect’s workout, the player told ESPN’s Jay Williams.

Williams discussed the workout during Outside the Lines on Thursday.

“A top-15 draft pick told me the other day, because we were involved in this conversation about Phil Jackson and the Knicks, and he said, ‘Phil Jackson was falling in and out of sleep during my workout,’” Williams said.
Sorry, this is hilarious.

The Porzingis thing is insane. Like having ordered a ribeye that is amazing, but not the best you’ve ever tasted, and telling the waiter that you you want what is in the mystery box.

Trading a borderline all star who has the ability and room to improve for a 4th overall pick who has never played an NBA minute in his life.

#lolknicks

Obviously the Knicks would also get one or two of the three thousand extra players the Suns have at each of the 5 positions. There would be an internal revolt to the owner if he tried to trade him straight up for the 4th pick.

So Jimmy Butler is a Timberwolf and Chicago is officially in rebuild mode.

More talent going west.

Yay…

Absolutely love the Warriors buying back into the second round for Jordan Bell. A perfect fit, and could be the steal of the draft. Reminds me a lot of Draymond Green.

$3.5m for a second-round defensive specialist? Alright then…thanks Bulls.

Before the draft I remember looking at the warriors picks to see if they could get him before finding they had none due to the acquisition of Igoudala. (Which worked out pretty darn well). He was the one guy who looked like he would be available late who could fill a massive need (someone who could sub for Green in case of foul trouble, guard any position on the floor and pass, witth some decent but not great offense, which could develop). He even handles the ball pretty well.

The headline writer must have had fun with this one.

I absolutely hate it because the most dominant team gets better. This guy seems like a steal for 3.5mil.

Well, it does seem as if the Warriors might not be able to re-sign Igoudala, so it’s more like running in place at best, and maybe losing a step this year, to maybe take two steps next year.

Side note, Igoudala dancing with the trophy was one of the funniest things of the championship celebration.

Knicks saying bye-bye to Phil Jackson.

… that seemed huge… until CP3 got traded to Houston! Crazy times.

Wow, cool! Looks like the contenders aren’t going down without a fight. Good for them. More than I would do.

I like Boston trying to land both Hayward and George, or neither. Good plan.

It sounds like teams will try to overpay Igoudala and Livingston to break up the Warriors depth. I’m pretty sure they can match or beat any offer with Bird Rights. It’s only the owner’s willingness to pay the luxury tax at that point. And I still think vets will be lining up for a ring at a minimum salary, so they should be fine.

At least there’s a chance now.

I’m expecting little change for the Cavaliers outside of vet minimum deals. Their repeat offender tax situation has reached epic levels (re-signing Kyle Korver to, say, a nice $10M one-year deal without cutting any other contracts would actually cost the team more than $45M).

It seems like their best hope would be a DWade buyout, though Chicago has already threatened that he’ll need to give up a lot of money.

Paul to the Rockets looks great on paper. But does it make them better than the 3 seed in the West? Not sure. Does it get them past the Warriors? No way.

RUSS!

I pity the poor NBA writers who were hoping to have a holiday weekend. Sheer chaos just erupted again.

Paul George has been traded to OKC.

Blake Griffin was in the middle of talking to other teams when he suddenly cut it off and resigned with the Clippers for 4y/$173m.
