So would TCU have been #3 if this was an expanded playoff? Would OSU have been #4?

Meanwhile Georgia is now leading and running the ball.

Edit: Nevermind, OSU just scored.

Real defensive struggle so far in the (checks notes) Peach Bowl.

If Georgia loses in the Peach Bowl on NYE, oh man. RIP Buckhead.

Ohio State is gonna win this game. Georgia is getting absolutely no pressure on Stroud.

Georgia scored too fast!

That hit on Harrison is going to win them the game.

Ohio State has a minute and two TOs to get into FG range.

Georgia got back into this game by blitzing Stroud. And now they’re just rushing four and getting carved apart.

Ohio State kicker hooks a 50yd game-winning FG attempt and Georgia survives. Reating that he also kciked it at the stroke of midnight on December 31.

OSU should have run it at the end instead of calling dumb passes. Brutal ending.

They ran it and lost a yard on first down. Didn’t have any more field to lose so I get the passes.

You know how Kirby called that timeout on the fake punt. That saved Georgia.

Except the refs also didn’t notice that Ohio State had 12 men in the play.

Count them. Gotta pause once the ball is snapped because one of the linemen is obscured.

I confess, I went to bed early, as I wasn’t feeling all that great and after the early OSU TD I just said screw it. Woke up this morning to see the score and watch the highlights. Damn. Admittedly, my interest and passion level for football is waaaay lower these days than it was at one point, but while I’m kind of sorry I didn’t stick it out for the whole game, I know I’d probably have either fallen asleep way before midnight, or the tension would have wrecked me.

Stroud is a phenom. Both these QBs are great, and exciting. The game seemed to come down (based on the highlights at least) to the offensive lines, where Georgia’s was a bit more consistent and effective. Both defenses were actually pretty good; it was just that the offenses were that powerful most of the time.

I do feel bad for the OSU kicker, though. I mean, in reality it isn’t his fault because if you’re in a position with no time left and down by one, you shouldn’t be in that position in the first place. Can’t really blame the kicker for that, and shanking one in what is in effect an away stadium, after a long game, in warmer temps than you’re used to, with a noise level something around a full-on riot…yeah, I feel for the guy.

Sort of. Now, Bulldogs vs. Horned Frogs. What a zoological nightmare!

After today’s results, the MAC have won the Bowl Challenge Cup for best conference record in bowl games. Standard caveat that non-playoff bowl games are essentially meaningless for determining team/conference quality due to player opt-outs, coaching changes, the nature of bowl tie-ins, etc., but it’s still neat that probably the worst FBS conference ‘won’ it this year.

But it was the time espn wanted for the game, and that’s all that matters to espn, not the local teams’ time…

That’s how Pac12 After dark works

TCU in danger of getting blowed out.

The Georgia defense is for real.

Kids, this is why you always buy your ad blocks during the first half of these games.

TCU getting annihilated.

Javon Bullard is the player that headshot Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison last week. Making plays.

You know it’s bad when everyone on the halftime show is saying it’s over and wondering when Kirby starts pulling starters for stadium ovations.
