Auburn was whipping their sacrifical lamb so much that the coaches agreed to shorten the 2nd half by 10 minutes. They still won by 70.
Poor UTEP, man had there ever been a more Washington Generals team? How must it feel like to get recruited on a team that’s effectively the level 1 kobold that the hero has to start against?
Also, somebody needs to raise the elevation of El Paso about another 4,000 feet. It would be a somewhat nice climate then.
I don’t follow the SEC but this week’s SEC Short is worth it for the Vandy content alone, which starts about the 3:00 mark.
After going undefeated last season, being ‘snubbed’ by the playoff committee, getting absolutely rocked in a bowl game, suing to leave the ACC, and losing to Georgia Tech to open the current season, Florida State are down 13-28 against Boston College (at home) halfway through the fourth quarter. What a wild 12 months this has been for FSU.
The ACC may counter-sue FSU for fraud.
Another point in favor of “rankings shouldn’t exist before week 5/6!” I don’t know why they were ranked so high though. Didn’t they have a ton of players leave the program after being snubbed last season, either by graduating or transfer portal?
16 carries for 21 yards today.
DJU is the only offense they have!
It’s Week 1 and FSU is 0-2. Impressive.
They are winless on two continents!
Last night must have been pretty deflating for Ga Tech fans.
I was reading comments after the FSU-BC game and there were a bunch of people joking that FSU should be suing to leave the ACC for the Sun Belt instead of the SEC. The funniest part was that then a bunch of Sun Belt teams fans were responding “No thank you, we’re good.” Ouch.
Arkansas State beat Central Arkansas on a last-second TD pass.
The refs ruled it incomplete.
The replay center overturned it to a TD.
Today, the conference said it screwed up and said it should have been incomplete.
What’s wild is that it doesn’t even seem even close to possession in bounds. Even the receiver thought it was incomplete. So how did it get overturned?
But it remains in the books as an Arkansas State win.
The important thing to remember is the guy in the replay booth beat the spread.

Hah, Stephen F Austin was beating their scrubs so bad both coaches agreed to shorten the second half to 5-minute quarters.
In my perfect world, if you play someone clearly way under your weight class in the non-conference games, your ranking should be suitably penalized. Maybe it is, but if so why are so many wk 1 games so unevenly matched.
Games like that are the equivalent to pre-season games only they count. The FCS teams get big paychecks (even Fresno State got $1.6m to play Michigan) and the big boys get a good scrimmage. I don’t have a problem with teams opening the season that way, it’s the teams who schedule more than one or play one later in the year.
And given how far out these marquee OOC games are scheduled, sometimes things happen. Like that impressive program ends up not being so impressive when you finally play a decade later. Or sometimes a team that was scheduled as an OOC opponent ends up joining your conference.
You have a point, but the schools are making bank on having these young people humiliated and frustrated for an audience at least half of which is reveling in the blood sport like Romans at the Colosseum.
