Plays like this

Miami ran the ensuing kickoff back 91 yards for a touchdown.

MTSU then scored another touchdown, but the drive took 13 plays, which is embarrassingly slow really.

Miami have answered, so it’s 45-31 and there’s still over four minutes left. I’m still nervous for the little guys.

Texas fumbles in the first play of OT. Texas Tech ball. Lol.

Texas Tech kicks a FG to win. Students rushing the field. First time they beat Texas in Lubbock since that famous 2008 game.

I can’t work out if it’s a ten year old kid or some totally wasted college girl, but there’s someone right next to the field mic shouting CAN I HAVE A HELMET!? for about two hours straight now.

Miami stopped Middle Tennessee on fourth down but then went four and out on four incompletions, so that’s about that.

Maybe they should give the girl the helmet and see if she can run.

25.5 yards per completion.

WSU had an 11-point lead on #15 Oregon, in Pullman, with 5 minutes left, and now they’re 10 points down with 1 minute left.

In other words, they Coug’d It.

Coug-ing it up sounds pretty bad.

But honestly, they’re still not in the same weight class as Mizzou for being able to Mizzou-up a game.

If you missed today’s game between Missouri and Auburn at Auburn, well, good. I wouldn’t wish that experience on anyone. Score is 14-14 to start the second half.

And what a scintillating second half it was! Auburn with five possessions, Mizzou with five possessions.

10 punts in a row. I think there were a total of 3 or 4 first downs TOTAL between the two teams in the second half. The 3-and-outs were dazzling to behold.

On their 6th possession, Auburn turned it over on downs on the Mizzou side of midfield. With 90 seconds left, Missouri’s Tigers got a drive going, punctuated by a completely unlikely 39-yard pass to the Auburn 3. Mizzou has an All-American field goal kicker, so with 40 seconds on the clock they got the ball to the spot on the field they wanted, and forced Auburn to burn all their timeouts by taking knees. And then Harrison Mevis, their All-American place-kicker, came out to kick the winning 26-yard field goal with 2 seconds left.

And he missed it. Overtime.

In overtime, Auburn had the ball first, and seemingly lost it on a 3rd down interception. But…no. Review showed the ball hitting the ground. Still: 4th down, and Auburn tried a 44-yard field goal. It missed, Missouri ball just needing a field goal to win.

Wait. Flag on that Auburn field goal. Mizzou offsides. And so Auburn was able to re-try the field goal from 39 yards out, and they hit it. 17-14 lead. Missouri’s ball. Field goal sends things to double OT. Touchdown wins it.

And so on Missouri’s first play, running back Nathaniel Peat finds a seam in the line and takes a hand-off and breaks free. He jukes inside the five to the outside, and then as he’s hit by the last Auburn safety at the 1-yard line, he stretches out to try to get the football to break the plane of the goal and win. Except the ball squirts out of his hand for a fumble. Game over. Thanks for coming.

THAT is how you lose a football game in absolutely epic, mind-blowing fashion.

If you’re Michigan State’s AD, how are you feeling right now about giving Mel Tucker a $93 million fully-guaranteed contract last year? Minnesota blew them out in Lansing. It’s also making me nervous about Stanford @ Washington. That win over Sparty suddenly doesn’t look so good.

I’m headed to Husky Stadium at this moment.

DeBoer is a good coach and will have them ready for Stanford.

Adrian Martinez for Heisman! Imagine having multiple losing seasons with that dude behind center.

MTSU are full-speced for beating Miami:

K-State does what Nebraska can’t - Nebraska transfer Adrian Martinez leads K-state to a win over OU!

Recent SEC acquisitions are having a rough day. Recent B1G procurement USC could join them before the night ends.

You think the PAC-12 wonders why they added Colorado?

Real reason OU and Texas went to the SEC is to escape Kansas

No, they left for money.

It’s been a sad September for the Royals losing the Queen and all, but I wanted SFA to hit 100 and do the Wilt thing.

Northwestern has lost to southern Illinois and now Miami of Ohio. Their only win was Nebraska.
