Weber State lost, and this is one that can be firmly placed on the long snapper

I think they should stop trying to punt and just go for it on 4th instead. Either that or change long snappers. Just grab someone from the stands and suit them up. The odds are good that they could find someone to do better than that.

The Weber special teams almost put the game away early with a kickoff return and a punt return for touchdowns… and then gave it away. 4 safeties on punts. Never seen a long-snapper get a case of the yips.

And the field thins as two more unbeatens get knocked off. Texas and MSST are both likely to drop out of the rankings as well. It looks like the top 4 should stay the same as Clemson came close to getting nipped, so I doubt they jump past Tennessee or Michigan. There will be some shuffling going with the “hopefuls” on though, that’s for sure. After an awful loss in the opener to Georgia, Oregon looks like a 1 loss team to watch after knocking off UCLA today. We are officially heading into the best part of the college season. We are past the early garbage games and into the gladiatorial arena now. Let the fun begin.

I wouldn’t be too sure about that. This is a much better Ohio State defense than Michigan encountered in Ann Arbor last year.

And the Penn St. Defensive gameplan was atrocious - don’t use that game (or the upcoming Ohio St @ Penn St game - Penn St will play loads better at home) as barometers - unless, of course, Penn St manages to give up 400+ yds rushing to the Buckeyes as well…

The announcers got it right. That was a 4th quarter avalanche by Ohio State on both sides of the ball.

You couldn’t tell by looking at the final score, but the defense bailed Ohio State out today. Got some key turnovers early, kept it close until the 4th and then delivered the killing blow with a pick 6 late.

Much of that defense was supplied by DE J.T. Tuimoloau who was the definition of a one-man wrecking crew:

Things got ugly in the shared tunnel at Michigan Stadium

They really need to do something about that tunnel situation. That doesn’t excuse the actions of anyone involved in the fight but this is happening too often to be ignored.

Miami and Virginia played one of the most inept offensive games of all time yesterday. Miami won, 14-12, in a 4 OT game that featured 0 touchdowns. The only play to reach the end zone was Miami’s successful game-winning two-point conversion in the 4th OT.

Yup, but it was the Penn state defensive coaches who gave the game away.

30-24 Ohio state about 5 minsleft. 3rd and 10 deep in their own territory, and Penn St plays a soft zone behind the sticks and Ohio state easily converts.

They go on to get the td, pick six, etc, but that play (and stupid defensive playcall) was the ballgame

Do you mean a safety?

No.

Wow, I didn’t know that had changed again!

I knew it but had forgotten about it.

Auburn has dismissed Bryan Harsin as head coach.

Matt Rhule, come on down!

Or is the SEC ready for Hugh Freeze part deux?

Sadly, my money is on Freeze.
