As if there was any doubt, this should solve that problem. Its down 76% in its second week.
And for the complete Star Trek box office history

You think the dopes at Paramount would have released it several more weeks before Lord of the Rings than they did. They had to know that film was their true “nemesis.”
They only do that for projected 100M+ movies. Studio guys are sometimes smarter than you think.
Studio guy: Nemesis is going into the Dec 13 slot.
Other guy: But… that’s the week before TTT!
Studio guy: Yep, I’ve seen the final cut.
Release dates are often determined well in advance of final cuts. Like a year in advance, particularly when you’re talking Summer, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
The release date for The Two Towers was known well in advance, going back to last year. Same thing for Return of the King next year. If they thought Nemesis would do well they would have scheduled it for an earlier release. Of course the other thing to consider is that they have tried to release a Star Trek movie in December since ST6 came out.
edited for clarification
There really wasn’t a good place to stick Nemesis where it wouldn’t be crushed by a box office powerhouse. A few weeks earlier and they were sucking hind tit from Harry Potter.
Nemesis should’ve been dumped in that film no mans land known as February. At least there it would have had a chance to picking up the “eh, nothing better to do” crowd.
I like how Nemesis fell so far it is below The Hot Chick now in weekend box office and per-screen average. Nemesis is performing on par with Die Another Day, despite DAD being out a month before.
This dismal performance won’t mean the end of the Trek franchise, but it may mean some changes.
And how impressive is it that TTT’s $90 million chunk of the LOTR production budget is only 50% more than…Maid in Manhatten?
But Ralph Fiennes is so dreamy.
