I appreciate his path, and yeah these groups seems to prey on the lonely and those without confidence but I gotta tell you, I was tormented by a young man named Joel Smith in elementary school. He just thought it was the best thing ever to make fun of my hair, my skin, everything… and then one day in Jr. High he just came up to me and said, I’m sorry. Just out of blue. I don’t think I’ll ever forget him because he did that. Now I also won’t ever forget the torture that was being told what you are is not okay, but him, like his face, I still remember that. And I have no idea why he decided what he was doing was not okay. I was too surprised and young to ask.

Some good news.

The jury recommended a sentence of 10 years, with the option of suspending some of the time, and a $20,000 fine. The presiding judge, Richard E. Moore, will set the sentence on Aug. 23.
