When you’re rotten to the core, it’s pretty hard to hide it. For some reason though, people still think you can reason with individuals like that… or more importantly, that the rest of us have some sort of responsibility to reason with that.
What’s cracking me up is the number of angry conservatives crying out about Bill Maher comparing Trump to an ape, and demanding he be taken off the air to pwn the libs…
…and people on the left saying “Yes, that would be fine, too.”
Context matters; calling a white person an ape isn’t the same thing. Even though, of course, we are all apes!
Anyway Maher would probably land on his feet. Not like it’d be the first time his show got shitcanned for something he said.
Oh, absolutely. But that explanation requires some nuance that most of the wild-eyed halfwits are incapable of wanting to understand.

So in other words, “I’m a racist, but I’m a cowardly racist who won’t openly stand up for my beliefs the next day.” I’m not sure who she’s trying to win points with here.
My guess is that your basic everyday holder of racist attitudes who isn’t also a virulent nazi doesn’t want “compared a black woman’s looks to an ape” under their byline.
