Your posts are bad and you should feel bad.

I’m waiting for swarm audits to compile, which means I’m stuck sitting at my computer. Might as well enjoy myself!

C’mon, this would’ve been way better.

Also one of these.

OK, so how would I deal with a situation if somebody within the same community as me thought about joining the alt-right?

Say, for example that I was a youth worker.

Would I try and reason with them, argue against the views of the alt-right, and try to argue in favour of mainstream society? What would be the single most effective thing to argue?

Or do I take the advice of this Forum and keep shouting "Are you a FUCKING NAZI!? over and over again? And let that person’s option define who they are for the rest of their life?

Any other suggestions?

I want to be prepared in case this stuff happens. I wouldn’t want to lose someone to the alt right if I could help it.

dino-tache

Where did you get that idea from?

Fuck them.

Are we doing dinosaurs or cute puppies?

I’m trying to imagine how this conversation would go.

“So I’ve been listening to this Richard Spencer guy a lot lately and think maybe he’s got the right idea about killing all the Jews. What do you think?”

Is that kinda what you’re thinking?

Winner. Adorbs!

who woulda thunk that preciousgollum was a troll or nazi? i vote cute puppies!

Especially cute puppies with handlebar mustaches!

Like this?

No. Nothing like that at all. I see where you are coming from in having a direct understanding of where there beliefs originate or what exactly they stand for, but the issue is that people don’t always know exactly what a group stands for. There can be different tiers of entry - movements spread internationally so, while those who started the ‘alt-right’ would be in the know, people in other parts of the world might think it means something different - they might think ‘alt-right’ as a by-word for a Trump supporter.

I mean, a new person who might adopt ‘alt-right culture’ isn’t going to say the example that presented above. They might not even know that to be the case.

Or, perhaps taking your example at face value, if somebody did say exactly that, what would one be expected to do as a result? Would one be expected to inform the Police?

This is how I became a Stalin enthusiast during the Obama years.

Maybe this one is more on-topic:
