‘Chicago pie’ is a good name for it. ‘Pizza’ is already taken.

I fucking love Chicago style pizzas and think regional food snobbiness is approximately 28% as fucking stupid as Neo Nazis and the Alt Right. Let people like that they like and stop pretending your home town owns the right to dictate what a dish looks or tastes like.

Unless it’s the Louisville Hot Brown. I think we’re all okay letting them keep that one.

I have no problem with people enjoying Chicago deep dish. I do have a problem with calling it a pizza. Words mean things.

Maybe if they called them hamburgers. Or tacos?

The entire field of modern linguistics would like a word with you on that one.

Pun kinda intended

My current favorite pizza has white sauce, chicken, bacon and green onion, on a slightly thick but not doughy crust.

That’s a kind of chicken club sandwich, right?

It is, in fact, called the “Chicken Club” and it is very tasty. I frankly do not care if you call it pizza or not, as long as I can eat it.

Freeance and liberdom for all!

kebabpizza

I want to go to there with my face

I’m sorry @Sharpe, I think you forgot to add this

I’ve been to most of the states, and I’ve had pizza in almost as many. I basically find the opinions of anyone hailing from a place where a national chain is ‘the good pizza place’, which is a shockingly large percentage, worthy of little more than mockery. Also that thing New York calls pizza is a soggy cracker with cheese.

Let them eat tomato sauce casserole!

In St. Louis we have pizza that’s a crispy cracker with cheese – well, provel, which is sort of cheese. It’s what I had for lunch today.

That looks lovely. And not a straw in sight.

That pizza is acceptable.

You’re from Philly where cheese wiz on low grade beef is considered a local delicacy.

When I lived in Orange County, there was this place in Santa Ana that did Philly Cheesesteaks with a Mexican flare: you could get traditional Philly style but you could also get cheesesteaks with carne asada meat, with jalapenos, etc. It was a beautiful thing.

Please.

American cheese is the proper way to go.
