I watch a lot of history, science, and education videos. I’m sure that’s the reason.

What can I say, I find videos detailing the history of weird borders and second order enclaves fascinating.

Odds are you’re watching something that has been considered “controversial” by the algorithm. Which can be… basically anything, maybe someone swears or is playing a game with violence in it. So you wont get ads from “respectable” businesses.
I watch a lot of HEMA stuff and it gets flagged(because swords are violent and dangerous!), so I’d see these kinds of ads. I just flag them as inappropriate every single time. They mostly have gone away, but they still show up occasionally.

Yeah that’s what did it for me too. Got one particularly odious Prager ad that was quite sexist from the 20 seconds I had to watch before I could skip. Flagged it, and don’t know I’ve seen any since.

Ugh, the PragerU ads. I think I was “honored” with them for a while after I made the mistake (purely out of morbid curiosity) of watching some jerk’s video about Mass Effect Andromeda, in which, among his many complaints, he complained about how the female protagonist was made “less hot because of political correctness.”
The worst PragerU ad was the one with their take on Democratic Socialism. The DudeBro giving his hot take made me hit Skip Ad in record time.

My youtube account lives in the innocent world of music, and recently its been playing these long ads for i think pedals and fx where you wonder why the next song on your playlist seems to be generic dad music favoured by guitar review blokes/techs/tutorials/music shop sales/middle aged white men who own 10 grand PRS and Gibson wall guitars etc and look up and it is a bunch of guitar review blokes playing generic dad music.

and to stay OT, Prager turned up in my twitter feed when arguing with alt right types and the whole fake Uni thing was so dodgy.
