If Jefferson Davis were around today, they could make him head of their party and he’d fit like a glove. He’d be better read and better spoken than their current champions, that’s about it.
I’m not going to go hunting for the original PragerU video, but I imagine the full thing is touting the service of Lee in the US Army prior to his traitorous turn. He served with some distinction in the Mexican-American war, was Superintendent of West Point (which is why there are rooms and buildings still named after him there), and he did happen to be the commander of the US forces that took down the already-surrounded John Brown.
Again, having not seen the video, I would supposed that they are saying that Lee’s service pre-war was enough to justify him being in the Capitol. A ridiculous supposition, but it’s fucking PragerU.

What’s interesting to me about that story is the guy is young, good looking, married with kids (I’ll assume a fairly happy marriage), and yet he’s radicalized to that extent. And the scary thing he’s not an anomaly, there are probably friends/co-workers who share his beliefs, they just weren’t dumb enough to put it online the way he did.
When you make threats to kill people, you should lose your right to carry a gun.
