Pretty sure, from what i’ve read on other sites - I only go to Reddit to look at Life is Strange or Alienware stuff - Chads and Stacys are “normal” people, aka the popular sports stars and cheerleaders of High School or equivalent. “Betas” are the shitposters themselves on Reddit/4chan, the unpopular and less attractive kids/manchildren. “Alphas” are Chads and Stacys. I don’t know what “Omegas” are, but i can guess by following the sort of High School psychological hierarchy these Reddit posters seem to follow what sort of person an Omega would be.

Self-hatred is a strong part of the phenomenon. They apparently used to call out random young male shooters as a “beta uprising” to kill all the Chads and Staceys until it became clear doing so was starting to look like criminal incitement. So calling someone a Cuck is, in a sense, telling someone to stop acting like a Beta (themselves) and start acting like an Alpha (those damned dashing, self-confident Chads who get what they want in life).

Most people who look at this phenomenon from the outside sort of miss this dynamic. Analysis often ignores years of bullying when some kid becomes a shooter, all they see is the final act and not the years/decades of social trauma that oftentimes (but not always) came before. A lot of this stuff is rooted is connecting out-group kids traumatized by Middle School / High School social dynamics and carrying that chip on their shoulder into their adult lives. It really is on some level the Revenge of the Nerds.
