There’s one good way to not be called a racist. Don’t be a racist.

Guess it doesn’t work if you’ve been a racist for 85 years though.

Pretty sure it’s similar to the way a certain kind of leftist uses “neo-liberal”.

Matt Furie, the creator of Pepe the Frog, struck back against a self-published children’s book that depicted Pepe as an Islamophobic, alt-right champion on a mission to make his farm great again.

Thanks to Louis Tompros and Don Steinberg—intellectual property lawyers at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP—Furie has reached a settlement with The Adventures of Pepe and Pede author Eric Hauser. That settlement prevents further sale of the book and forces Hauser to donate all profits to a Muslim-American advocacy group.
[…]
Hauser was an assistant principal at a North Texas middle school when the book hit the market, but Denton Independent School District officials removed him from his post amid the controversy. As of this publication, his new position is yet to be determined.
[…]
Hauser denied claims he was Islamophobic and a member of the alt-right but my reporting showed that Hauser used a web cartoon of women in burqas as the model for Alkah’s minions. The artist Hauser commissioned to illustrate the book—Ukrainian freelancer Nina Khalova—gave me early design documents that indicated Hauser wanted the alligator to have a full, bushy beard and wear a robe. He also instructed Khalova to copy Furie’s original designs of Pepe the Frog directly.

Capitalizing IS really makes this a winning argument.

Douglas says the documents could be useful for officials in other cities who want to regulate or ban similar marches. “If you say, ‘Look, there could be problems, we don’t want problems,’ that’s never going to be enough for the court to restrict otherwise protected speech,” Douglas says. But if the government can show a well-founded basis that there was “not just a likelihood of conflict but sort of preparation for illegal activity, then the courts are more likely to impose restrictions.”

Discord allows users to create private, invitation-only group chat rooms, which Discord calls servers, that are not indexed or searchable. The company, which is also popular with gamers, has raised more than $100 million from top-tier venture capital firms like Benchmark, Greylock, and Accel. But its privacy and anonymity features became a draw for far-right groups, including those that organized the Charlottesville march. Since Heyer’s death, Discord expelled several extremist groups.

One of the oldest and largest neo-nazi sites on the internet, the white supremacist chatroom Stormfront, has been thrown off the open web by its hosting provider.

Stormfront has been described by the anti-hate group Southern Poverty Law Center as the “murder capital of the internet”. The group pointed out that “registered Stormfront users have been disproportionately responsible for some of the most lethal hate crimes and mass killings since the site was put up in 1995. In the past five years alone, Stormfront members have murdered close to 100 people.”

As of Tuesday morning, Stormfront .org was unavailable, with the site’s domain registry recording that its hosting provider Network Solutions had issued a “hold” on the address.

I used to work on several projects involving tracking neo-nazis, deradicalization, etc. While I’m happy that Stormfront was taken offline, it’s also a loss to the groups that track the hate groups. The SPLC, for example, is going to have a much more difficult time tracking various people who associate with Stormfront if the site isn’t there as a locus of their online activity. It’s a weird double-edged sword.

The SPLC can access the darknet as well if it wanted to keep track of these groups.

What this does is demotivate the low-information grunts, though a lot more needs to be done.

Seems like they’re all low-information grunts.

Ya can’t cure stupid, son.

Oh, come on.

“I think we should classify them as a gang,” said Arreguin. “They come dressed in uniforms. They have weapons, almost like a militia and I think we need to think about that in terms of our law enforcement approach.”

Arreguin said that while he does not support the far right, it was time to draw the line on the left as well, especially on the black-clad activists who showed up in force and took over both the protests and the park, and played a part in Sunday’s violent clashes.

“I think we are going to have to think ‘big picture’ about what is the strategy for how we are going to deal with these violent elements on the left as well,” said the mayor.

The mayor said it was also time for the non-violent protesters to take a stand.

“We also need to hold accountable and encourage people not to associate with these extremists because it empowers them and gives them cover,” said Arreguin.

Since we’re talking about veritable militias (from a couple of weeks back):

A good Fresh Air interview talks about militias.

Branded with the face of Pepe, the anthropomorphic frog that has become the emblematic meme of the alt-right, Gab is a digital playpen for Nazis, white supremacists, men’s rights activists, anti-PC crusaders, Gamergaters, anti-feminists, free speech absolutists, and anyone who loves a solidly offensive joke. Notifications are sounded with the croak of a frog.

Sounds charming.

I mean… good. You can’t stop them, you never could, but forcing them to deal with weak companies is a net win imo.

They’ll find hosts eventually. And then people like Jester will fuck with them and it will be hilarious. If you have to go down a dark alley to an abandoned warehouse to hold your racist meeting it becomes a lot harder to pretend you have the sympathy of the majority than if you’re holding it football stadium.

One thing that is amusing is that the sites who do work with these Nazis tend to rip them off. Things like crowdfunding Nazis are using charge more than twice the overhead cut that legitimate sites charge.

A globalist is someone who works towards a one-world government and thinks nation-states should be abolished and that multinational megacorporations and their interests are more important than national interests. At least in my book.

Complains about fascism. Then proceeds to applaud the destruction of free speech, just because it hits the people he dislikes first.

That is how fascist states come to power folks… You are repeating history, you know…

You know the quote : “I disagree with what you say, but i will defend to the death your right to say it!”

And while you may say that banning people from popular mediums and forcing them into obscurity isn’t “technically” banning of free speech, it serves more or less the same purpose. It never stops there anyway.

Some time in the future you and a few friends or perhaps the state may not like the “abandoned warehouse gatherings” and gather to smash some heads. Perhaps push for their imprisonment if they continue. Perhaps even senting them to Gulags… After all, this is how the party got started back in 'ol USSR or Nazi Germany…

In reality, true democracy doesn’t fear fascists (or any other) talk. If they are indeed scum and sick in the head, they will never gain traction. If they DO gain traction, either something is terribly wrong with your society as a whole, or they are not really in the wrong…

What passes for “the left” in western countries always makes me shake my head in disgust these days. If you heard your political opponents conspiring to push you out of the internet and turn you to abandoned warehouses, you would be pissed and rightly so. For example, what if big wealthy mega corporations decide to fleece the little guy econonmically and to counter opposition they push their opponents out of the internet, like you propose to be done to the right wingers. Would that be ok and “democratic” for you?

You can’t have a civilized society without free speech and equal rights. Making political discriminations regarding public speech is a slow road to fascism. Whether black, red, or any other color of fascism, it is still fascism. Fascism isn’t about “white supremacy” as most ignorant people think. You can have a perfectly fine multicultural/multiracial fascist state. Stalin’s USSR was one. Modern USA is slowly turning into one as well.

Now, i am not defending Trump. I have no stake in USA politics and frankly i don’t give a f*ck. I know Trump is a selfish narcisist, that is no secret. But i am just tired of the pretentiousness of the political left, and their turn into fascism while claiming to be “antifa”. Yeah, the best way to fight fascism and oppression is by burning cities, beating up people, removing free speech etc. That will show the fascists!

Poor little Nazi got his feefees hurt by the big scary leftists. SAD!

No. False.

Freedom of speech means that the GOVERNMENT can’t censor you.

It doesn’t mean that you are free from repercussions due to what you say. It doesn’t mean anyone has to respect your opinion. It doesn’t mean that a private corporation is obligated to give you a voice.
